Since I have completely forgotten how to even play this game now days.
Using common sence would tell you not to use the trainers. If I remember correctly there are bundled or a requirement.
Just re-textures and sounds would sound logical not to get a ban on online.
But I'm not sure so you'll have to do the research by your own because I have no free time anymore.
Thanks again for checking my guide. Have fun.
So here is the thing.
Solution 1 (safest way):
1) Make a copy of your modded game.
2) Name it "GTA 5 modded" or anything different.
3) Name the other copy "Grand Theft Auto V"
4) Delete all the .asi mods and trainers.
5) Go on steam.
6) Right click the game -> Properties -> Local Files -> verify integrity of game cache.*
*By doing that you will have to redownload the modded .rpf files or anything modded files.
Solution 2 (risky way a.k.a. ban ban):
Remove your mods manually using openiv.
Solution 3 (way more safe):
Re-install the game. But keep your already modded version by having a different name on the folder.
If you do that. Just make sure you keep a Steam Backup. Google it. ;)
I can't thing anything else atm.
I am that modifying the .rpf files will also affect the online version, and I have followed your guide exactly and have also included the commandline.txt in my files.
Surely there must be a faster way of modding GTA V than having to delete all of my modded GTA V files then fully reinstall the game just to play online?
I am sorry if this seems like a simple solution but I am new to modding and have yet to learn about this.
Thanks again.
I never used RagePluginHook. I have no clue how you can configure it.
Second of all. I think i know what you wanna do. You want to be able to switch from online (using the alt menu, esc or w/e) directly to your modded story mode.
Now as a last thing. You can't do that. Or even better, i don't know how to do that.
When you modifying the .rpf files of the game you modifing aspects from the online version also.
That's why R* is banning for mods, and that's why we put -scOfflineOnly on the commandline.txt Also that was the main point of this guide.
This is exactly the same thing as having two GTAV folders and just rename them to "Grand Theft Auto V" so steam can recognize them.
As for your question. This is the faster way for me.
Keep one GTAV folder clean for your online and achievement play then make an other one where you put mods on it.
On the second guide i'm mentioning here explains it very well how you to do this.
What you mean by "run both a modded and vanilla game"?
This is only to seperate them and easy to select between.
Do you have any idea how I could run both a modded and vanilla game, such as that? Any help at all would be appreciated.
So unfortunately i can't help you with that.
Cheers.
