Splendid Smoke

What does it do?
The mod reworks the smoke effects of various weapons and events. In the initial version this includes much bigger smoke clouds created by all types of smoke grenades.

The main aspect is the improvement of the visual experience while not decreasing the performance compared to vanilla. In general this means that the amount of spawned particles remains unchanged.

The following list presents all added/changed features:

* reworked effects of smoke grenades
** double the size
** more volume due to increased spreading
** blocks the sight of AI
** same particle amount than in vanilla (performant, particle limit is not reached faster)
* compatible with common mods like ACE
* small and compact, no overhead
* perfomant

* The smoke effect does not look like in the video?
** If you use any mods, try again without (vanilla). If the problem still persists, locate the problematic mod. Ensure that SplendidSmoke is loaded after this mod, this should fix the issue. In either case contact us here, at the Bistudio Forum or at GitHub so we can fix the issue also for others.
* The smoke effects do not apply to a modded smoke grenade?
** The modded grenade probably does not inherit from the vanilla grenades. Contact us here, at the Bistudio Forum or at GitHub so we can add support for this mod.

What Fairchild says. Looking directly at smoke is buggy, with smoke disappearing, but if it is in your peripheral vision and not in direct line of site, smoke looks great.

Mh. I've made a notice and will take a look at it at some time... The thing is the mod is a one liner, literally: . It only makes small adjustments to the smoke grenade particle effect parameters.

I'm not sure if bohemia changed something with the way smoke grenades work in latest update because it seems as your smoke works as intended as long as the player isn't looking directly at it. I'm not sure if its a LOD thing or what. Not familiar with coding for smoke grenades and haven't opened yours up to see coding so don't have much info. I don't think its anything done wrong on your end but maybe just them changing a simple line of code that caused a conflict or something. Or I'm an idiot which is highly possible :D

I don't know. The mod itself just reworks everything which inherits from the vanilla shells. Maybe your mod changes something there, maybe overwriting. What do you mean by "not working anymore"? Something buggy or just missing the effect of this mod?

Did something with the Laws of War break this mod? Not working anymore for me for some reason.

It did work at the moment I designed it, currently I'm not using it so I must admit that I don't know if its currently working or not. Every smoke grenade that inherits from the vanilla smoke should be affected, so as long as they did not change this it should work.

Sure it's been answered but I can't find it. Does this work for RHS & zeus smoke?
