Danny's Definitive 4-4-2

With a new football manager around the corner, the time has come to finally upload my 4-4-2 tactic that I've been constantly working on and tweaking throughout all of FM16.

The tactic obviously takes a lot of cues from Leicester's title-winning 4-4-2, and was built predominantly whilst watching them play week-in, week-out. However, it has evolved considerably from that point and, whilst still retaining a lot of my original (unpublished) "Leicester-eque" 4-4-2, it has very much become it's own beast.

The idea with this tactic is not to tell you that "you MUST have this player," or "you MUST use this training," or anything of the sort. Rather the point, like many 4-4-2 tactics, is flexibility and adaptability - I'm aiming to give you a solid groundwork and tactical insight so you can tweak and redevelop the tactic to fit your own style and your players. If you come up with anything that is in any way inspired by this strategy, please let me know in the comments, because I'd love to hear about what you've done.

If you'd like to learn more about how the system works and learn about some of the key positions in the tactic, I've written a detailed breakdown for the brilliant Strikerless blog that you can find at:
