With all the Automatic Weapon, and other leveling bonus's you can get 5-3rd bursts in VATS. That with all the Bonus to damage leveling bonus's gives you enough damage to kill any one thing at most ranges on normal and hard levels. There is a Pistol you get working with Drake that when maxed out has 16 shots and is just as, if not more lethal.
