Abyssal Zone got greenlit!
Original Abyssal Zone is now playable!

Abyssal Zone is a puzzle game where you play as a squidlike creature who can only move forward or turn, while being watched by two entities. The game features a collection of puzzles built around this, which reward you with pearls should you complete them under the specified number of moves.

Partner up with a friend to solve the co-op exclusive puzzles, where communication and cooperation are key. Both players' moves count towards the pearl counter, so extra caution is required!

Abyssal Zone started out as a Ludum Dare 34 game, which scored #143 place overall in the Jam. Due to the short time it was in development, the game felt incomplete. That's when the remake was born, with 3D graphics, more content and new puzzle mechanics.

You can play the original Ludum Dare 34 game here![]

The game can be controlled with two buttons, including menu navigation, but other keys are also available for ease.
During gameplay, one button propels the creature forward, while the other makes it turn 90 degrees.

Thanks to everyone who voted so far! We're currently at 50% to top 100!

@quaternary Thanks! You'll get used to the clockwise rotation mechanic. Some puzzles wouldn't exist if you could choose the direction to move. It's a fundamental mechanic!

Really neat looking puzzle game! Good luck getting greenlit. Not sure how I feel about the "only clockwise rotations" mechanic - It means you can play the game with two buttons, but it comes at the expense of being kind of awkward.

And bonus points for being a Ludum Dare game ;)
