Unstable Cubes

I was trying to use cubes in unusual ways and came up with this. Some parts are easier than others. This is also dependent on the fact that lasers can't hurt you while you're in a funnel.

Update: Reworked the final room because I found a short-cut and they subtly changed how funnels work.

Update 5/29: Fixed two shortcuts, removed unnecessary tunnel, thanks Prototype. Reworked the final room to be more annoying.

Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the cube does not behave itself on that platform, you just have to be quick.

Забавно и не напрягает. Только раздражает непослушный отражающий куб на движущейся платформе.

Funny and not annoying. The only annoying naughty reflecting cube on a moving platform.

Sure, it's easy when there isn't any conversion gel involved. Thanks for playing.

I can't come up with a full cheat solution, but by bringing the cubes they can be stacked to jump over the light bridges, this allows you to push the button and get a portal in the exit room. but thanks to the fizzler you added down the bottom, it won't cheat the level :) also in the last room if your good at cube throwing, you could simply throw the cube up and exit Well done fixing the shortcuts.

You really are quite good at this. For what it's worth I have made some updates.

You're right about the return tunnel. It's funny how long you can look at your own stuff and not see the obvious.

The whole level was too easy :P 'cause I didn't solve the intended way, here's my blind run: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iyrzwhhi05jvv1p/unstablecubes.dem

That return tunnel (from the room with the cube dropper/button on roof) is not needed...the cube can be brought back through the fizzler so I don't understand it's purpose.

Thanks. I always mess up by forgetting which portal is where.

That was a really good mind challenge ^^ Forcing you to place portals only when you need them :p Liked it ;)

I did exacly as you described (position and momentum). In the end, I had a lucky jump :)
I'll give "Keep it Lit" a try. Please don't forget #F4F for this one.

Sorry the frustration killed your enjoyment. It only seems easy to me because I spent hours testing and perfecting the technique.

If you place the reflection cube perfectly, and hold it until just after the platform switches direction back to the far side, jump off, run to the side lift, and get into position before the laser gets there, then you have two, maybe three passes before it gets out of alignment. If you're lucky and plan ahead then you only have to do it once.

You can also use the lift's momentum to jump over the barriers without them making it all the way to the top.

That's kind of hilarious that the laser knocked you back on the third jump. I think that's a feature, not a bug.

Still, as far as frustration levels go this is nothing compared to Keep it Lit
