Floor Equality

Description
This small modification makes almost all indoor floorings equally beautiful as smoothed stone. The exception is wood floor, because it is very easy to build. Instead, I added parquet floor which is harder to build and costs more than twice the resources.

Changes:
Adjusted beauty of vaniila floors
- wood floor: from 0 to 2
- stone tile: from 2 to 3
- carpet: from 2 to 3

Added a new floor type:
- parquet: requires 8 wood and 1200 work, has 3 beauty

is this mod the one that randomly made all the wood floors white?? it looks awful, I'm trying to find the right one so I can get rid of it

Is there anything like this mod for 1.0? I don't know how to change the values myself, and it really annoys me that wood floors are somehow neutral in beauty.

I'm just not happy being forced to use only smooth stone tiles if I want to have the best beauty per tile, I end up having partially smoothed out areas and then stone-tiled areas and it looks silly, even though it's technically the "best" floor type I can get. I don't always like the custom floor tiles from mods, but I'll have to look for some alternatives I suppose. I would perfer it if you could update this to 17 though!

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay, I do hope all is well for you.

I like this pretty much as is, lincore; I cannot bring myself to make suboptimal gameplay choices, so my bases are uniformly boring looking, with smoothed stone flooring (yes, I mountain base). When I downloaded your mod (right before A17, *of course*) I was much more open to actually making my bases look good to me, personally.

Lincore - I find myself powergaming to a fault, so your mod allowed me a modicum of artistic expression without having to worry about min-maxing. Thank you for that. If you find the time to update it, great! I would use it again. Other than that I wish you a speedy recovery.

I'm in a bit of a pickle with this mod. I create mods because I have an interest in playing them myself. With FloorEquality in its current state that is not the case at the moment, because I no longer think that equalizing the floors' properties is a good idea.
I still think the best approach to give players more ways to be creative about their base building, but that should be done by extending the palette with more floors that are equivelant gameplay wisr to existing floors, yet artistically varied. My mod tries to improve player expression by sacrificing choice on the side of gameplay.

I'm curious in your opinions and what you expect of FloorEquality. Why don't you use other mods that add a ton of new floors? Whatever I'm gonna do, it will have to wait two weeks. I had an accident and need to spend some time in the hospital - and recover.
Thanks for your interest - Me :)
