Space Dance Melee is a fast paced arcade space fighting game. You will laugh, cry, and shout at the screen as you sit down with your best friends and destroy each other’s selection of ships over and over again.

Each ship you select is unique and has a very different play style from all the other ships. There are fast agile ships, slow powerful ships, ships that manipulate gravity, ships that blow themselves up just to be pieced back together. Revel in learning how to operate all the different ships, or focus on mastering only your favorites.

In addition to an impressively large roster of ships and engaging game play, there are several different modes that allow you to play different types of games. So if you are not in the mood for a death match, there are co-operative alternatives, and single player adventure modes.

Explore the depths of space, fight genetically modified space horrors, collect power ups, upgrade your ship and unlock new abilities. You must be careful though, you only have one life per run. Will you be able to get to and defeat the alpha weapon?

Adventure Mode is fashioned to be difficult. It will take skill, persistence, and a little luck to be able to complete. Though difficult, it is not unfair. With each attempt you will get better, discover new enemy weakness you can exploit, hidden areas to loot, and strategies to utilize.

Defend your space station from an onslaught of destructive forces. Team up with your friends, or go it alone as you fend off alien space beasts, stray asteroids, and other harmful cosmic events. Collect powerful upgrades for both your ship and your space station. Will you install powerful offensive capabilities to your space station, or will you add support functionality to keep you alive in the fight?

You and your friends will be placed in a space arena and subjected to wave after wave of cruel punishment. Each wave gets more difficult, but you also become more powerful. How long will you be able to hold out before it is too much?

A death match in space. Fly, position, fight, and destroy. This frantic mode is but one of many, but it is the defining multiplayer experience in Space Dance Melee. Gather your friends together, plug in several controllers and destroy one another in an up to 4 player space skirmish.

Thank you for all of your support. Making this game has been very fun, but wouldn't be possible without support from people like you. I love interacting with the community, so if you have any questions, ideas, or just want to say "hi"; please do. Thank you.

It's a game that many people will enjoy and not a rock simulator, so yes.

I think the idea of Defend mode sounds the most fun to me. Overall looks like a nice game :)

I see what you did there. The "influence" of Star Control II is hard to miss.

I seriously like everything about this page - the game has to be good, because SC2. The fact that you play and enjoy playing it means it has the potential to be great, nothing helps the game like a dev that actively plays it. The longer and more personal second video is very nice and I'd love to see something like that on more steam pages.

All the pros of couch multi aside, I don't have IRL friends, so I'd like to see some networking added at some point :P. But I understand how long it takes to do in a very small team and game being good obviously has to take precedence.

If you need some help testing single player on linux PM me or something.
