Thanks. I have not heard reports of the character creation breaking. Are you deleting a slot, selecting the now empty slot, then making a new character and hitting Confirm, selecting that new slot to load into the game, and then it is loading the hero that was in the slot when you deleted it?

The radiation mechanic is a core part of the game. It has a wide variety of effects that generally are negative for players and positive for the enemies. I don't think it should be removed from the game.
On all maps, you can reduce the radiation by hunting down and destroying Radiation Fragments. On City and Hive, these are required objectives. Bringing certain classes like a tactician (who can make units temporarily immune to radiation damage and Ion Strike fragments) or a sniper (who can go invisible to safely hunt down rads) can help. You can also use traits like Rad. Resistance, which gives you a powerful Rad Scanner to find the fragments and reduces negative effects on player and positive effects on enemies.
On Defense, radiation will go up automatically to scale up the difficulty. Finding fragments and rescuing civilians will help reduce the radiation. Leveling nanites or bringing Rad. Resistance or Tacticians can also help mitigate the damage received from the radiation.

This game is dope, really like the class system, struggling to figure out the best way to play defense but it's fun as fuck

While the game is designed for 5+ people, we are making improvements for both lower group size games and improvements to the new player experience. 1.12 has made a lot of UI improvements and tweaked some mechanics that should make it easier for lower man games specifically.

The mod has 3 maps currently. The Defense map (which is the default) is intended more as an introduction to the game to learn its mechanics in a simpler game mode: just survive. There is a lot more to do to accomplish a mission on the City and Hive maps beyond just camping and surviving. There are also more enemy and boss variants in the higher difficulties on those two maps, and you should rank up your characters faster by doing the tougher difficulties.

If Defense piques your interest, I highly encourage trying out City and Hive and working your way up to the Nightmare difficulty. Joining the discord is a great way to find a group to do the harder difficulties with, as well.

This is already dead. You need too many people to even be able to finish it. It's too hard for 1-3 people. Leveling takes too long and I mean classes. There isn't much to do, there is only like 8 enemy types and between some there doesnt seem to be much difference. Shame as it has potential.
