Grouping Gauge is Go!
New Video Up!
Description
Release date: Third quarter 2016
Shufflet is a new type of logic game.

Unlike traditional "match 3" puzzle games, Shufflet encourages you to build the biggest number of grouped pieces possible then clear them when *you* are ready. Shift entire rows and columns at once creating a unique brain bending challenge. The timer is always ticking, but it is well worth your time to create as many groups as possible for that BIG score before proceeding to the next level. Good Luck player...how high is your score?

Shufflet is a game that is easy to learn, but will challenge you for a long time. A must for fans of more difficult puzzles like Rubik's Cube.

Features:

Two levels of difficulty are offered:
- "Easy" featuring 4 piece colors, smaller board and randomly populated board.
- "Hard" featuring 5 piece colors, large board and each board starts stacked against you!

2 Original music themes to choose from.

A handful of configuration options to ensure the game feels right for your needs.

Score tables for both Easy and Hard modes so you can prove you're better than your friends.

Thank you for viewing my project Shufflet.
I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the compliment Game Development Championship! It is wonderful to get noticed.
I may enter Shufflet into your competition. Sounds like a great time for sure!

This reminds me of those 90's arcade puzzle games like magical drop and puzzle bobble. And yes, that is a compliment.

We are running the Game Development World Championship and would like to see you participate. It's good for your visibility and won't cost you a penny.

You can check it out at www.thegdwc.com .

Looks like a fun game to play, love the old fashioned games that are quick paced and have some difficulty to them. Looking forward to play it!

cinedine , to address your points:
1. I'm currently working on an option to allow user defined "skins". I realize that people have different taste so why not let them share and use what they like.

2. Players are encouraged to carefully move the pieces around for the biggest score (it is exponentially larger with more groups per clear). It becomes a balance of clearing the board to get the time extension and getting the biggest score possible. The time extension has been tested so that the game can't continue indefinitely but varies in length between a skilled player and a less skilled player.

I like the idea, but I wouldn't spend money on this game. First the graphics are off-putting. Like a lot. I read that you were aiming for the 90s feel. Congratulations, I think you nailed it. Sadly it's 2016 and even a game using standard Windows UI components looks better.
I also don't see a long time appeal to it.

Side note: Having the removal on your own time means you can just shuffle the entire board to your liking if you have the patience. Which defeats the purpose of the game IMO.
