Ecco the Dolphin: Revision 01

Official and rare - Ecco 1 (English) with checkpoints and other fixes from the Japanese version.

Ecco 1 is considered a very difficult game. After the original version had been released, the developers continued to improve the code for the following releases of the Japanese and Mega/Sega CD versions. Several bugs were fixed, and the game was made quite a bit easier.
This "Revision 01" is almost identical to the Japanese version, but in English. It was never officially released, and is only surpassed by the Mega/Sega CD release, and the Windows PC version, the best version of Ecco 1 to date (see "Ecco PC: Fixed and Enhanced Edition").

- Fixes certain bugs and glitches (speedrunners, up your game!)
- At least one hint message was improved, helping the player.
- Some barrier glyphs act as checkpoints now, so you don't have to replay a level from the beginning after dying.
- Fewer enemies.
- Enemies don't respawn by default (making rescuing the lost dolphins in "The Lagoon" quite pointless, because the reward for that is the anti-respawn ability).
- Dying in the final level doesn't send you back to the infernal penultimate level anymore.
- There are two new levels (but they aren't that good): "Open Ocean 2" and "The Stomach" (the latter involves the final level, enough said).
- There's an undocumented "easy mode", accessed by entering "EASY...." as password. It skips several levels, shortening the game significantly!
