Release date: Summer 2016
Tabletop RTS for Virtual Reality

Immerse yourself in a futuristic war room as you step into the role of a tactical mastermind and command your troops to victory. Set on a virtual reality tabletop, Tactera allows you to outwit and outmaneuver your opponent in an action-packed battleground.

Designed to adapt the RTS to a VR stage, Tactera plays like a lightning round of chess, requiring mental agility and quick tactical thinking that can dramatically affect the game’s outcome.

Originally posted by VR Perception:
Tactera is different, not only because it’s simplified real time strategy, not only because it automates a lot of the more mediocre parts of the genre, not only because it’s a faster paced tactical game, but because it’s designed for Virtual Reality from the ground up.

A New Wave RTS

Tactera strips away the nonessential, often cumbersome elements of RTS games, and instead places an emphasis on the critical strategic choices. Instead of requiring resource collection or unit micromangement, Tactera allows you to focus your energy on your overall strategic approach and minute-to-minute tactics.

Start by carefully choosing three unit types to take into battle. Weigh your options between twelve vastly different units, ranging in abilities and quality from quick movement speed, to long-ranged attacks, and everything in between. You’ll have to devise a coherent strategic combination if you want to achieve victory.

Even then, you'll have to stay on your toes. Rich in strategy yet approachable, Tactera allows you to focus on crucial strategic choices. You’ll have to adapt and stay nimble to counter whatever strategy your opponent throws your way.

With most RTS games, you're spending as much time managing individual units as you do planning the grand scheme of the battle. Tactera is a whole different beast.

The Units

Each of the units in Tactera was carefully designed to offer unique advantages and disadvantages. They'll have to work in tandem in order to effect a practical strategy for dominating the battlefield. With hundreds of combinations, each offering different strategic approaches, each battle presents its own compelling challenge.

Immersive Environment

Take the reins of battle in a futuristic environment and designed specifically for VR, and be immersed in a stylized sci-fi world filled with intense music and holograph-style graphics.

You forgot to put 'VR' in the title for the auto-Greenlight.
Game Development Championship May 23, 2016 @ 3:21am
So you are designing the game for VR, but does that mean it is not possible to play it without a VR set?

We are running the Game Development World Championship and would like to see you participate. It's good for your visibility and won't cost you a penny.

You can check it out at .

Good luck with the development!

This is awesome! Along the lines of RTS games and strategy games, this is a whole new frontier for the game genre. I really love the simplicity of the game and design, and yet it looks very in depth at the same time. I would totally buy it, except I don't have a VR headset. :steamsad:

Anyway, best of luck to ya! :)
