Meatballs Traffic Density Mod

Brings the highways of American Truck Simulator to life.

IMPORTANT: This increases the amount of cars on screen, and will obviously be more demanding on your PC than the vanilla settings. Be prepared to adjust your graphics if you experience frame rate drops!

Variables have been tweaked to provide *heavy* traffic, especially in the morning and evening rush hours, quiet nights, and a steady flow during the daytime. Be prepared.

This is still a work in progress as I try to perfect the settings in light of SCS Software's ongoing work to improve the game.

If you find yourself stuck in unmoving traffic, save your game and then immediately reload the save and resume driving - you will appear where you left off with no traffic around you.

Please set this to load as a top or very high priority.

***PLEASE NOTE: I do not update for nor support any beta versions of ATS***

This would be my favourite density mod if there was about another 15% trucks, another 5 seconds between light changes, a bigger difference in density in and out of rush hour and if AI were more aware of me encroaching into their lane (wide turns). I turned g_traffic down to 0.7 and queues at junctions were perfect for me - stop, start slow moving but moving. I haven't experienced any gridlocks. I'd love a bit of each of the 3 main density mods mixed together - DP's vehicle ratio, cip's safety and Meatball's density.

Okay, updated version for 1.38 is up! Just drove a lap around Salt Lake City and everything seems good. Going to go for a proper haul now to the new and improve Lost Wages.

True, they do a good job of adding new stuff. Best of luck to you in updating!

@Agera153 it most definitely is, but I can’t grumble at how well SCS supports the game nor their commitment to improving it. Will see what I can get done about it all...

Crashing during load on latest update (1.38) again, my guess is due to the traffic updates in the new Las Vegas. :( Must be so annoying having to fix this mod all the time. Hope you can find a way to get it working again!
