It's not bad enough you shoot bullets at bullet shaped enemies... now it's time to play as one.

HOW!? HOW DO I UNLOCK HIM!?
Introduction

Alright so here it is, the moment everyone has been waiting for... playing as a bullet.

I'm honestly not sure what the pre-requisites are for starting this cryptic little side quest, and until then, this section will remain as such unless someone can confirm when it actually begins.

To give you an indication, it's one of the last things I did in the game. I rescued all of the NPC's (except for the Lost Adventurer, because he seems to be currently bugged) I finished all of the main characters pasts, and beat the Lich on Chamber 6.

I doubt you have to go that far, and I'm sure he is attainable right from the start of the game because what I'm about to show you, is probably going to annoy you.

Reason being? This has probably been slipping out from under you as you've been playing.

Okay so apparently you need to kill at least one of the characters pasts (that means get one of the characters true endings) in order to start getting these guys to show up, but it's still heavily RNG based, so get to work and good luck.

What you should be keeping an eye out for

Do you notice anything in the following picture that's odd or out of place?

What about now?

Notice how that Bullet Kin has a red cape?

Yup... that's the secret.

Every time you encounter one of these Bullet Kin (The first, most basic and easy enemy you fight in the game) keep him alive.

Kill everything else in the room, but keep this bugger alive at all costs...

These caped Bullet Kin are passive, even though they're holding guns, they won't attack you. Just be weary of your passives killing them, like Junior II, the Wolf, the Cop, the Gradius space ships...etc...

After everything else is dead he'll wander around aimlessy for 10 seconds. He will then warp out of the room and leave a red glowing aftermath, kind of like Mega Man would do when he warps out of a boss chamber.

The doors to the room will unlock as per usual and you can proceed.
HOW OFTEN DOES THIS HAPPEN!?!
It's RNG based... it can happen on Chamber 1, it can happen in Bullet Hell...

Just keep your eyes peeled.

It happens more frequently when you've run out of unlockables.

I noticed after I ran out of things to unlock in the game, I would start frequently running in to rooms with 5 or 6 of these guys in them... Even on the harder floors, which shouldn't even be occuring because these are the easiest enemy you fight in the game.

It seems as though the devs really push for you unlocking this guy after you have nothing better to do.

He only shows up initially in a room, he will not show up with reinforcements.

DO ANY OTHER ENEMIES HAVE THIS CAPE? WTF?

No they don't... none... none of them... don't even try looking.

Just keep an eye out for normal looking Bullet Kin mobs...
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO DO THIS!?!
From my experience... Four... (4)

Which was a bug in my game...

Logic dictates that there's six (6) bullets in a revolver cylinder but I had to do it four (4) times...

It's since been confirmed that it's actually FIVE (5) Red Caped Bullet Kin you have to keep alive to unlock him... for me it was four (4) because this game is special like that.

WELL WHAT EXACTLY DO I GET FOR DOING THIS!?!

You earn an achievement called "Case Closed":

And The Bullet becomes a playable character in the roster:

WHAT CAN HE DO!? WHAT ARE HIS STARTING STATS AND LOAD OUT!?! TELL ME!
It's quite ironic actually...

He's balanced, 3 hearts, no armor, that's about it... As plain as Jane can get.

Starting Stats

Starting Weapon And What It Can Do

A Sword named Blasphemy... Most likely because he's a bullet wielding a melee weapon.

Puns are fun.

As you can see, it's a sword.

What they don't tell you is that, yes, the mechanics are exactly the same as Link's sword from The Legend of Zelda games. (The good ones, not the 3D ones)

Full Life = Ranged sword lasers (And YES they extend the full length of the screen, it was a nightmare trying to take this screenshot and have the effect show up because it has a flashing animation that completely makes it disappear rapidly)

It also has unlimited ammo because it isn't a gun...

Just keep your health topped up if you want to play it safe from a distance.

Loss of life, even 1 hit = No more sword lasers.

Another point of interest I forgot to mention is that swinging Blasphemy gives you some forward momentum, so watch your positioning next to holes. You could very easily step in to one if you swing too wildly.

Passive Ability

This one is a hoot... very cute.

So he wears the elusive cape you so desperately had to keep your eyes out for and it gives him sexual powers... Well that's only the half truth (Early Simpsons reference anyone? No? No? uugh).... but it does give him powers.

You don't take damage from playing tummy sticks with enemies and your dodge roll is now a W.M.D. (Weapon of Mass Destruction)... Except not really, it's kind of paltry, but it beats swinging around a laserless sword.

This is a poor excuse of a screen shot but it's kind of hard to roll and press F12 at the same time and capture that right moment... and I'm too lazy to remap buttons.

It looks like I'm just laying on the ground but as you can see from the enemies mug, it looks like he just got punched in the larynx.

You dodge roll in to enemies head first and it creates a gun shot noise every time you dodge roll (LEL).

You will ricochet off of them (small knock back, so be leery of holes and other enemies) and the enemy will sustain a small amount of damage.

DOES HE HAVE EXCLUSIVE PASSIVE ITEMS THAT BUFF HIS ABILITIES?

I have no idea, and I'm not willing to try it out either... already plugged enough time in.

This guide is more of a "How To" with some basic inquiries about him so you get an idea if it's worth the trouble... some might say yes.

He might have exclusive stuff... or maybe not, it's all conjecture at this point.

If you happen to beat the Dragun (5th Chamber Boss) his sword Blasphemy will be added to the Ammonomicon. It will be available for all other characters to find and hate fûk shtuff with.

It's been brought to my attention that they've since patched in an ending for this character if you beat the 6th boss floor (The Lich) ... I've never seen it as I've stopped playing this game nearly a year ago and could care less... but enjoy cheating your way to seeing that ending I suppose.
CONCLUSION
Meh... IMO, he's more of a novelty, The Robot is better overall.

Enjoy unlocking him... :)

The End...

@Nigball
No, but the chances to find caped bullet are higher the deeper you are.

So is it safe to say that the chances you'll find a caped bullet increase with the amount of unlocks you have?
