Before cheating on Fallout 4...

Fallout 4 is a fantastic game to play without cheats and id really recommend playing through at least once before using them. When you start using cheats it becomes a never ending temptation to continue doing so!

Using the player.additem code

• Simply open the Fallout 4 cheats conole
  
• Enter the code player.additem [item code] [amount]
  
• Replace the [item code] with the correct item code from the list in the guide and [amount] with the amount of the item you'd like to go into your inventory.

Example

 player.additem 000731a4 100 

This code would therefore place 100 steel into your inventory

How to increase the settlement build limit

Its vital that you do this carefully and seriously consider your hardware's ability to handle increases in resource use. Remember the game developers deliberately added a settlement build limit so that the game runs smoothly.

From my own testing and experience id recommend the following minimum hardware specs before attempting to increase the settlement building limits:

Intel i5 or better processor
GTX 960 Graphics Card or better

If your system has the above minimum specs please read on:

How to increase the settlement build limit - step by step guide

• First you will need to pop over to the workshop contained within the settlement that you want to increase the build limit
  
• Once you're right in front of it open up the cheats console
  
• (Important - follow carefully!) With the cheats console open click on the workshop... a number should appear which is the unique ID for the workshop. Don't worry about that number just make sure you don't click on any other object.
  
• Type in the first command which is setav 349 99999999 then press enter
  
• Type in the second command which is setav 34B 99999999 then press enter
  
• Exit the cheat console and move away from the workshop
  
• Enter the usual settlement building mode
  
• You will now be able to build to your hearts content, but do be careful - keep an eye on the game performance as you build and if it begins lagging it might be a sign to stop.

Just to make sure I get there before all the drama kings and (perhaps queens) out there ... using the above commands do not corrupt your saved files in anyway and you'll be able to load them up as usual ... with the build limit you've setup still in place.

i am having trouble with the institute quest Mass Fusion, I am at the part where you need to exit the building. I am directly on the quest marker, but it will not trigger, so I would like to have a command to progress it. Note, I am attempting to side with the railroad.
