The USS Nimitz is a mod for Arma 3. It adds the nuclear powered carrier USS Nimitz to the BLUFOR side.

The ship is a static structure, does not move and is not pilotable. It is provided with explicit permission of its creator, Tetet.

Vanilla planes & helicopters do work to a certain extent with the carrier, but in general they act bumpy and tend to get damaged when taxiing or landing on the carrier.

Hi guys,

Maybe I didn't understood how nimitz work, but IA planes didn't take off or land. Can you explain how should I proceed to do it ?

@Mecolico, not really, but I've updated ambiance 1 with the flight ops in the experimental / dev build.

@TeTeTe3 Yeah I know too little to do something like that myself at the moment. Brackets for example I don't understand. Either in SQL or an init-line in the editor. Lack of time and patience, I've given up for now and use zeus/mods.

But do you have a newer AI traffic mission than the one on your website from 2017? Or is that the one you still use?

@Mecolico, thanks for the kind words. Your best bet is to learn some SQF and use the 'Scripting the Nimitz' doc at I haven't used triggers much, but you might have a chance using 'thisList select 0' instead of thisList. Good luck.

@TeTeTe3 Hey! First off, many thanks for the awesome work you do on your mods.

I'm trying to make a mission with lots of AI action on the Nimitz. The player gets to be commander both on the ground and in the air. Using ALiVE and Drongos Air Operations, two mods who would be awesome if they fully worked with the Nimitz.

Anyway, I'm trying to launch aircraft from the catapults via triggers and radio commands. Do you have any idea how I would make that work? The thing is it has to be any aircraft that I've placed on a catapult position. I have many aircraft on the Nimitz so I'd rather not have to specify which aircraft to launch. But preferably any aircraft currently placed inside the trigger area on top of for example cat 1, 2, 3 etc. And then I press Radio Alpha which activates for example a trigger to launch whatever is on catapult 1.

I've tried a few trigger commands like for example [Nimitz, thisList, 3)... but nothings worked. I'm so unskilled when it comes to commands :(
