Porquerolles Island
Team Les Vétérans : [V]Michel & [V]Xnam

(From [V]Michel)

This terrain tries to be as close to the real Porquerolles Island as we possibly could. The height map and vegetation is based on the real world island.

Being originary from the south of France and in the vicinity of Porquerolles, with the help of [V]Xnam who made Angel Island, I took over the modelling of the Porquerolles Island which is the biggest and most to the west in the Hyères islands. It's forming an arc oriented east-west with jagged coasts.

The highest point in the island is the Semaphore at 142m.

I hope you'll enjoy playing on the island as much as I enjoyed making it!

Elevations come from USGS Map Database.
Real elevation model & roads & structure implantation
Terrain is 100 km²
Island is 12.5 km²
1 large town
Several castles
Small farms and structures dispatched around the island.

Changelog :

-integrated 1.6 patch
-modified satellite map
-Some adjustments of objects
A thank you all for your feedback, I remain at your disposal for future corrections.

V 1.2

- Correction of blue predominance on the satellite image
- Addition of Corals and rocks at sea all around the island.
- Seabed's topography modified in the port.
- Addition of several real life wrecks,"Le Donator" , "Le Grec" and "Le Cimentier",
at their accurate position.
which are really places from there, and more surprises to discover.
- Some adjustments of objects.

V 1.1:

- added clearings in the woods for mission makers
-added small piers to the south coast of the islands
-lowered the number of vines to increase FPS on lower configs (5 to 10 FPS gain)
-dirt paths are now more visible on the map
-corrected configuration files. ATTENTION: this introduces breaking changes, we renamed all configs from "vtr_porquerolles" to "porquerolles". If you have old missions (2D editor) you'll need to edit the mission.sqm.

Porquerolles doesn't need any other mod to be used.

Extract @VTR_Porquerolles to your Arma 3 game root folder,
rename "@Porquerolles Islands By [Vétérans]" to "@VTR_Porquerolles"
Enable the mod.

Too many roads randomly going where ever in the forests. preventing any form of bandit/criminal/terrorists camps from being made. A lot of building insides are also clipping into the terrain, subtracting from the realism. I'd give the map a 5/10 simply for the insane amount of useless roads in the forests.

The port isn't very deep and could be improved. It could be deeper so that it can service larger ships, maybe 10 meters + deep would accommodate cargo ships. Too many roads and not enough structures for them to go to, such as residential buildings. The map is promising for amphibious operations, at least on the northern coast.

Beautiful map but I wish the crops weren't bullet proof.
