Optimize CS:GO for Windows 10

How to make Counter-Strike: Global Offensive run better and faster.

Introduction

This guide is intended for LOW-END Windows 10 PCs. Please don't shove things like "I CAN GET 400 FPS LOSER!" to the people who are having problems with running CS:GO.

Launch Options

Recommended Launch Options:

-high Sets the games Priority to High

-threads x Sets the number of cores CS:GO can use. (eg. -threads 4)

-nod3d9ex Increases FPS ONLY in Windowed/Borderless Mode

Other Launch Options:

-nojoy Disables Controllers

-tickrate 128 Sets local tickrate to 128

Video Settings

Put these settings in Video Settings in the Options tab:

Global Shadow Quality: Very Low or Low

Model/Texture Detail: Low

Effect Detail: Low

Shader Detail: Low

Multicore Rendering: Follow guide below:
1 cores: Disabled
2+cores: Enabled

Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode: None

Texture Filtering Mode: Bilinear

Anti-Aliasing: Disabled

Wait For Vertical Sync: Disabled unless you have extreme frame tearing
Double Buffered: Capped to 30 FPS
Triple Buffered: Capped to 60 FPS

Motion Blur: Disabled

In-Game Commands

Put these commands into your autoexec.cfg or type them in every time you start the game.

Recommended Commands:

m_rawinput 1 Enables Raw Input from your mouse.

m_customaccel 0 Disables Mouse Acceleration.

r_drawtracers_firstperson 0 Disables tracers in first-person.

cl_forcepreload 1 Preloads map in loading screen.

cl_autohelp 0 Disables Burst-Fire On/Off messages.

Other Commands:

engine_no_focus_sleep 0 Faster Alt-Tabbing

net_graph 1 Shows FPS, ping, etc.

cl_showfps 1 Show FPS in top left corner

Intel HD Graphics

Intel HD Graphics is a integrated graphics card. This "card" is intended mostly for things like slideshows. Using this for gaming is not recommended but I will still show you how to optimize it for gaming as much as I can.

Updating Intel HD Graphics

1. Click Here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

2. Click Download Now

3. Follow Instructions in the installer

Changing mode to "High Performance"

1. Open your Intel HD Graphics Panel

2. Click Power and change the Power mode to "High Performance"

3. Close Intel HD Graphics Control Panel

AMD Catalyst Integrated Graphics

Steam Overlay

Some players have said that disabling the Steam Overlay helps with their FPS.

To disable the Steam Overlay do the following steps:

1. Click on Steam and click on the "Settings" button. Click on the "In-Game Settings" tab.

2. Uncheck the box next to "Enable Steam Community In-Game" and click OK.

Internet

Use an ethernet cable to lower ping. I recommend you using a Cat6 cable but if you don't have one you may use a Cat5 or Cat5e cable.

Malicious Software

You computer might be infected with malware so scan your PC for viruses,spyware,etc. I recommend using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware[www.malwarebytes.org]

Disk Defragmentation

Only do this with a HDD. Doing this on a SSD will degrade the life of the disk.

Note: This is done with the built-in defragmentator

1. Press the Start Button

2. Type "Defrag"

3. Click "Defragment and Optimize Drives"

4. Select the drive that CS:GO is installed on and click "Analyze"

5. Only it is done analyzing, select the same drive and click "Optimize"

Uncategorized Optimizations

• Running CS:GO in Windowed mode causes input lag in Windows 7 or Vista with Areo enabled.
  
  
• Don't use "game boosters" or FPS configs.
