@evolutionpinballvr
Will you support DIY controller schemes?
I.e. you said, "We have built our own controller for the game, the front third of a pinball table plus arcade buttons hooked up to an arduino board, usb into the pc. Works great :-)"
If I wanted to build something similar would you provdie specs/instructions/support?
Thanks!
IntheDark we have not tested The Summoning with SteamOS but we beleive that Unreal 4 supports Linux and Valves Open VR so it is possible to have a Linux version of the game.
Come visit us virtual pinheads on vpforums and vpuniverse, we might have an idea what to do about your controller needs. Or just ask Google about MjR's DIY plunger design, Zebulon's Plunger Kit, PinControl1, VrtuaPin Plunger kit, Nanotech D-I-Y Plunger Kit.
We have built our own controller for the game, the front third of a pinball table plus arcade buttons hooked up to an arduino board, usb into the pc. Works great :-) When we first tried it we were reaching for the plunger [does not have a plunger yet]
It is likely we will support motion controllers but we need to test them before we update the specs, will support keyboards though. We will update the graphics card specs to the Nvidia equivalent graphics card.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'd suggest keyboard support at a minimum (for example, left ctrl / right ctrl or numpad enter) I'd also highly recommend supporting Vive's own controllers - then you can stand with your hands at your side. Bonus points if you let me physically pull the plunger back (with vibration feedback), etc.
As an aside, if your page has already been updated I think you may have missed Marcoc2's point - "AMD R9 290/NVIDIA equivalent graphics card." He's asking what an equivalent nVidia card is, and I think he's right that would be a good thing to have in your specs. Without doing a Google search, I have no idea how well a R9 290 performs.
Keep it up guys, good luck.
