Mercenary Costs Rebalanced - DeI Submod

Description
***This mod requires Divide et Impera***

This mod increases the hiring costs and decreases upkeep for mercenaries. Historically, mercenaries in this time period would have been hired for extended campaigns. Most of the "allied" units for Greek armies were actually mercenaries, and even the Roman auxiliary system stemmed from the wide-spread use of mercenaries throughout Republic-controlled areas. Mercenaries should be hired for whole campaigns, possibly even for longer; not just for a season (at least not most of the time).

What the mod does exactly:

Upkeep costs for all mercenaries reduced by about 30-40%

Hiring costs increased by
50% for levy tier units
60% for professional infantry and light cavalry
70% for heavy cavalry and elephants

This way mercenaries should be slightly more expensive than your own troops but not too difficult to maintain. It should increase the diversity of armies both the player and AI can field.

As always, thanks to the DeI team for such a great mod!

Would you be able to update this mod if you have time
Dr. G  [author] Sep 15, 2017 @ 6:40pm
Correct. I haven't had a chance to update this for 1.2.2, but there is another submod that does basically the same thing on the TWCenter forums. I may update this mod eventually, but spend most of the time I have for modding on my Warhammer mods, so you may just want to download the mercenary cost submod for DeI from TWCenter.
