Splody had been Greenlit!
Release date: Fall 2016

The classic couch competitive gameplay of games like Bomberman brought into the modern era. Place bombs, get out of the way, destroy your friends, collect powerups, 'splode your way to victory in a variety of game modes adapted for smooth multiplayer with virtually unlimited local players!

  • Online multiplayer
  • As many local players as you can connect controllers for (4-20 recommended)
  • Play against bots to practice or fill in a game
  • Level editor, share custom levels
  • Cross-platform (Mac / Linux release planned sometime during Early Access)
  • Music by The Hamster Alliance[]
  • Taunts
  • Various game modes and settings including:
    • Traditional "Last Man Standing"
    • "Capture the Dino" - Fight over control for a mount in this game mode which keeps all players respawning and in the action until the end of the match
    • Free for all or teams
    • Special levels with different behaviors
  • With post-mortem "orbital bombers," players can affect the game after they are defeated, so no one gets bored between matches

  • Is this just a Bomberman clone? Though the core gameplay is true to its inspirations, Splody has evolved in a number of ways that make it more suited to modern audiences. Local multiplayer support is very streamlined, with intuitive simultaneous character customization for any number of players, and just supporting more than 4 local players puts it ahead of most recent games of this kind. Additional game modes are available (I'm working on even more that should be ready before release) which are more suited to a party game than the traditional, rather brutal, Bomberman game rules. It's important that players of varying skill levels can all pick up a controller and immediately be having fun with each other.
  • Why can't I see videos on Greenlight? Steam Greenlight hosts its videos on YouTube, if you're behind the Great Firewall of China or other restrictive situations, that won't work, however you should be able to view our trailer and see our screenshots at

envoyx: Yes, keyboard controls also work of course =). I currently support 2 players on keyboard, but it would be trivial to extend that to a couple more, though a lot of keyboards don't like 4 people pressing multiple buttons at the same time.

Itzemii: If you're talking about the technical/stability/dealing with lag side of online multiplayer, with 10 years of MMO development experience, I'm confident it will be pretty solid as that's a priority for me, and something I'm intimately familiar with.

...pick up a controller... -> I'm wondering: Can keyboard be used to control the players ?
If so : :steamhappy:
