Ploppable RICO

Updated for Industries DLC by Bloody Penguin.

This mod will allow you to plop buildings that function as:
  • Residential
  • Industrial
  • Commerical
  • Office

The Ploppable RICO mod will convert any compatible ploppable asset to a RICO building.
For example, parks can be converted to farms, and unique buildings to offices. RICO buildings will function identically to their growable counterparts. Mixed use buildings and unlimited footprint sizes are also possible with Sub-Buildings Enabler and Sub-Buildings Tabs.

Assets can be made to be compatible with the mod, but the mod won't be required.
Asset authors will just need to include a .xml file that contains the RICO settings. The assets will revert back to their original ploppable function if the mod is disabled, and non RICO mod subscribers can still use the asset for its original purpose.

For asset makers who want to make their assets RICO compatible, you can follow the
Asset Creation Guide. Check out the Advanced Guide if you want to experiment with mixed use assets.

The Settings Panel Guide can be found here.

To convert growable assets to RICO assets, follow the Growables with Ploppable RICO Guide.

To get started, you can sub to the RICO Workshop Settings mod. It adds RICO settings to 74 popular assets that don't have existing RICO settings. It also adds RICO settings to a few generic vanilla unique building assets.

The RICO mod is fully compatilble with the PropaneDragon's Rush Hour mod and WG's Realistic Population mod.

A huge thanks to Boformer, Tailgunner, and BloodyPenguin for all of the design input and code they've contributed. Also a huge thanks to cope for his detours library. And a final thanks to SamSamTS for his UI objects used in the settings panel.

This mod does not save data to the scene file. It can be safely activated and deactivated on your cities with no risk.

I'm one of the ones here to report NullReferenceException errors with this mod.

I hadn't used it before, and as soon as I did start using it, I started getting errors. Took me a while to figure out where they were coming from and I was very annoyed cuz I thought I had corrupted my save and I was a bad and didn't have recent backups.

Whenever I use this mod this pops up, [System.NullReferenceException]
Not sure why, I spent more than a dozen hours turning and deleting different mods and assets, still didn't function

I installed the game after nearly 2 years. II cleared all my assets and mods and add only a few and all of them new. My problem is that i added some RICO (Unique) buildings and they do not show up in the RICO menu. Am i missing something? Can anybody help?

Guys, can you assist me with something please? I may ask a dumb question or maybe one without any proper answer. Is there not anything that can automate the "Add Local" part? It makes sense to add each building one by one if you want to add like 5, but I find it silly if you want to have a customized city with 200 different buildings.

There is no way modders place them manually, that would take hours. Am I missing something?

Yup, the saves themselves were borked and just loading the same map in a new game worked. Oh well.

Plopped a few things through RICO, minute later i get an error message that freezes the simulation. Saved and quit, restart and both the save and the autosave are borked, loads with the reference error everyone else gets. Gonna have to try a save I made prior to the issue.
after reinstalled the game, it won't show up in game anymore, any idea why?

The setting that lets you choose the # of households/workers stopped working, and it's causing some real problems. Does anyone know of a specific issue or mod conflict that causes this?
