In case you were wondering, this is how to keep people out of your game without kicking them.

Why do I have to make this?
Well, its all too often that I spend 20 minutes browsing through multiplayer for a lobby I can get into with the DLC that I have, just to finally find one that I can join and be kicked immediately. No, I haven't said anything to the people in the game; I don't get the time. I've barely loaded in and I get the message "You have been kicked from the game by the host." Sure, I play this game with my friends and I don't need random people joining my game, but I seem to be one of the rare ones that understand the PRIVATE setting. So I have come to spread the knowledge to those who don't even have the courtesy to name their lobbies appropriately to notify those looking for a game that they need to carry on and continue searching. (As in Kyle's Game or Shrek fbfaeibf as opposed to Don't join)
How to prevent others from joining your game
I assume you know how to host a game. Now, private is not listed as a regular option, rather, you have to take one extra second (I know it's hard) to look up in the corner of the screen. Simply click the box and a little green checkmark will appear, notifying you that the setting has been applied.
You're done.
Now just set up the game normally, and when you get to the Empire Selection screen, you will see that "Private Game" is shown as a game setting. You can sit and wait all you want, but the game doesn't show up on the public lobby listing, meaning randoms cannot join. Now there is just one more very difficult step. Click the "Invite" button on the bottom and select your friends that you want to join. Gone are the days of having people you've never met join your game and having to kick them without reason.

The reason people kick you is, at first its a public game... and then they gotta rehost to get somebody back in.

It seems to play a private single player game a person would have to start it as a private hosted multiplayer. I say this because all my single player games seem to be gate crashed. But I have noticed a lot of double negatives in pc settings, so that would be consistent. Thanks for the info.
