SANCTUARY HILLS AREA MAP
1. S.P.E.C.I.A.L. BOOK
Sanctuary Hills, in our post-war house, in the baby bedroom.
It's like a joker bobble-head, the book gives any +1 in any S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
Easy to get. One of the best items in FO4.
Most players already know it, but it is my duty to inform. It would be a terrible disgrace to miss this one...
2. GOLD (1.350 caps value)
Sanctuary Hills, basement of the house of our neighbor. Trapdoor on the floor, behind the house.
Decent loot there: ammo, chems, adhesive, locked items... the most notable: three gold bars.
There are infinite legit ways to make infinite money in FO4, but some extra caps to start is a nice help, specially in form of weightless* items.
There is an usable bed in the basement, the only one in Sanctuary Hills.
Some ammo on the roof of the house.
Mysterious fact: the trapdoor was not there before the war! O_O

3. ARMY HELMET
Sanctuary Hills, West. In a mini-island in the middle of the river, close to a military vehicle.
We must grab this helmet and to wear it asap.
It's just very good, believe me.
+10 DR (Damage Resistance) for free is a huge help at the beginning of the game. Observe that the effect is the same that the popular (and good) perk Toughness gives: +10 DR, but with no need to wait or to waste a perk...
The helmet is also compatible with the +1PER glasses that we should be wearing from the Vault.

4 .44 PISTOL
Sanctuary Hills, South-East.
Follow the river, pass a small dock, you will find a water-device. Follow the pipe, next to the skeleton, there is the .44 pistol, five rounds some loot and a couple of mini-secrets too.
This .44 pistol is much stronger than the 10 mm pistol or the pipe guns.
Ammo is rare to find in loot until level 10/15, but there are two merchants selling big quantities of .44 ammo and some other rare bullets (at any level):
- Eleonor. Shack 60 seconds at the South of Diamond City, NW of Fairline Hill States.
- Leonard Moore. Kiosk close to the Witchcraft Museum.
5. ARMOR SET (5 PIECES)
NE of Sanctuary Hills, Next to the river coast. Easy, close and safe spot.
Two leather armor pieces on the ground.
Three armor pieces more in the suitcase.
Later, we will find hundreds of armor pieces, but to start with +20 DR is a good help.
Armor pieces are compatible with the vault suit.
NOTE: sometimes the set comes perfect (2xarm, 2xleg, 1xchest), sometimes doesn't.
6. WSG MAGAZINE: "-5% MELEE DAMAGE"
Ranger Cabin, the closest landmark to S.Hills. Mag In the shack, on a table. Grab it soon!
"Melee damage" is much more than a enemy with a melee weapon! Hounds, mole rats, bugs, insects, mirelurks, ghouls... do melee damage!
Protection from almost any non-ranged weapon attacks... and for free!

7. WSG MAGAZINE: "EXTRA LOOT FROM DEAD ANIMALS"
Sunshine Tidings Co-op. Easy to handle settlement. It can be cleared by the player, just going.
The book is inside the shack close to the high deposits.
This magazine is incredible! In a long playrun will give us an immense amount of free resources. We wil loot hundreds of dead animals so we will get extra meat pieces, caps and unexpected items.
It is a good idea to make an effort to get this magazine asap.
8. GROGNAK MAGAZINES (TWO OF THEM)
One issue in Sanctuary Hills, in our post-war house, on the kitchen table.
One issue in Wicked Shipping Fleet Lockup, on the table with the terminal.
The +5% critical bonus mags are just ok imo, but freebies are freebies, we can't complain...
(SPOILER) Tip: the protectron there can be really helpful...
9. U.S. COM MAGAZINE
Lonely Chapel. The book is in the Federal Ration Stockpile basement, on the table of a raider named Red Tourette. Better to use the secret door in the Chapel, easy access to the book.
These COM books are really powerful when stacked.
10. SILENCED GUN
Drumlin Dinner. Sold by Trudy in the caravan. Fastest way to get a silenced fire weapon in FO4.
The gun uses .308 rounds. Stronger than the guns we find everywhere at low levels (1/5).
Even with "Gun Nut", we can't create silenced mods for our weapons before level 13.
It can be modded like a rifle (rifleman), pistol (gunslinger) or automatic weapon (commando).
Trudy also sells the unique "General Chao's Revenge" sword.
(SPOILER) When you arrive to the place, a mini-quest triggers, be ready!
11. FATMAN + MINI-NUKE
Robotics Disposal Ground.
The Fatman is on the chassis of one of the ruined cars there, close to the combat sentry.
There is a Mini-Nuke next to the big pile of tires, close to the fence.
In FO4 Fatmans are everywhere! They also respawn in some places! In any case, it's not a bad thing to have one, just in case...
Hot Rodder mag in the cabin, on the table, next to the terminal. It gives +1 AG on power-armor.
(SPOILER) Suicide supermutants proliferate as the game advances, so lootable mini-nukes.
12. POWER-ARMOR + FUSION CORES
Unmarked location: Crashed Vertibird field.
Apart from the famous power-armor in Concord, there is another one very close to Sanctuary Hills, in an open field with a crashed Vertibird, at the East of the Robotics Disposal Ground. This power-armor comes with no fusion core, so be prepared if you decide to go for it.
Available fusion cores in the Sanctuary Hills area:
- One in the Red Rocket Truck Stop, in the subterranean cave.
- One in the Robotics Disposal Ground, in the military box. close to the combat sentry
- (SPOILER) Two inside the combat sentry if we make it to autodestruct via holotape/terminal.
- One in the Concord Museum of Freedom basement.
- One in the sewers of Concord.
There is also a Power Armor (with Fusion Core) at the South of the Drumlin Dinner, in a cell on a train wagon, but the Hacker level 1 perk is needed to open the magnetic door with a terminal.
BONUS. FRAG MINES, 8 PIECES (sometimes)
Vault 111, West. Between the big power poles. A small minefield with eight fragmentation mines that can be easily deactivated (vatscouting) and taken.
It is allways nice to have some of this, just in case...
This place is a random encounter point, so we could find different things every time we go.
Notes.
Concord skipped here because I made a specific guide for it:

No copy-paste here. All this content (map, text, pictures...) is original, and everything was experienced by myself. Sorry for typos and poor English. Feel free to ask me anything.

I play "zero saves survival" (I die, I start a new playrun) so I know well the starting areas... O_O

Also, when you leave the vault there is a path to the left that leads to tower (The metal ones to do with electricity, I don't know the actual names of them) with a few raiders, one - two have double barrel shotguns. Also theres a chance to meet Duke, a member of the atom cats - who will add their garage's location to your map.

There is also a fat-man and mini nuke in the Federal Ration Stockpile armory, since you're already in there for the COM mag, and have to kill the person holding the armory code, might as well go a little further in and take it. They are in a corner near some destroyed racks, directly past the two double doors of the armory. Only have to clear a few raiders and a sentry or two to get to the armory itself which should be no problem if you can clear your way to the COM mag. There's also another mini-nuke just sitting on a generator-looking thing inside the armory itself. Didn't know about the WSG mags, dunno how I always missed the one in Sunshine Tidings :/

I discovered that by the .44 gun, there's a vaccuum sealed lid. If you follow the pipe from the yellow contraption down to the lake, you can switch it off. Back up, you can now open the lid and three caps stashes fall out.

A bit south of Abernathy Farm is a Rock Outcropping in which is hidden a suitcase with some gear, a machete and a stimpak. IIRC its some half way down to Gorski Cabin.

Shaman, did you see the picture? the picture of the trapdoor? You have to enter... In any case, there are like 4 or 5 blue houses in Sanctuary.... you can check them, one by one and it will show! O_O

+The Mario Bro .... check the Concord loot guide, pls, there is a picture of one of the doors to access Concord Civic Access, that is the official name. Once you are inside, the fusion core is at one of the two extremes of the water drain.

Where's the Core in the sewers?
