Greenlit! (Some Stats and a To Do List)
To Do List
Since I have access to the Steam API now, I can start incorporating some Steam-related features into the game. Here is a (not complete) list of some things that I will be working on in the future (some aren't Steam-related):
  • Achievements and Leaderboards (Steam API)
  • Gamepad support.
  • More soundtracks and/or the ability to load your own music into the game.
  • Change how game progression works. More specifically, change how unlocking levels work.
  • Place a heavier emphasis on the puzzling aspect of the game.

Small Update (Persistent Game Data, Pretty Gears)
Updates
Feature Additions
  • The game now automatically saves progress upon exiting.
  • Pressing the "R" key will reset progress and quit the game.

Level Design Changes
  • A new level has been inserted to smooth out the difficulty curve.
  • Some of the earlier levels have been tweaked. They should now be less difficult.

Other Changes
  • Eyes have been added to the tutorial graphic on inverted zones.

Description
Release date: Summer 2016
Play as a cute little slime as you platform your way through a colorful world. When you enter an inverted zone, your gravity flips upside down.

Downloadable Demo
The game can be downloaded from itch.io:

Game Details
The game is currently in a development stage, with the core mechanics and features finished.

Currently, there are 11 levels in the game.

Here is a list of things that I still need to do.
  • Make levels better
  • Steam integration
  • Other nice to have things (Suggest these in comments)

Changelog
01/03/2016 (Announcement Link)
  • The game now automatically saves progress upon exiting.
  • Pressing the "R" key will reset progress and quit the game.
  • A few gear shapes have been added.
  • A new level has been inserted to smooth out the difficulty curve.
  • Some of the earlier levels have been tweaked. They should now be less difficult.
  • Eyes have been added to the tutorial graphic on inverted zones.
12/23/2015 (Announcement Link)
  • An actual menu has been added to the title screen. Use the mouse to select menu items.
  • An in game menu has been added. Press ESC to access the in game menu.
  • You can now quit the game using the menus.
  • Level selection has been added. Levels must be unlocked before you can select them from the level select menu.
  • To improve clarity, I've adopted the following rule for inverted zones and platforms: All inverted zones will move/change in some way. All platforms and walls do not move.
  • The invert toggle mechanic is now introduced much earlier. This allows for more interesting puzzles early on.
  • I've tried to include more interesting patterns in the levels (see animation above).
  • Portal stars and invert toggles are now automatically triggered when you touch them. There is no longer an "interact" button.
  • Space is now the only jump key, rather than having two different jump keys for normal/inverted modes.
  • The player's jump is now lower, but you can make the player jump higher by holding the space key.
  • The slime character now blinks.
  • The effect for on screen notifications has been changed.
  • The fractal effect has been removed.

@CayaKat
The obstacles react to all in game sounds, including sound effects and background music. I had to replace the recorded sound in the video, so that's a coincidence.

Thanks for the feedback!

I love the look of this game! Is it just a coincidence in the video, or do the obstacle lines jump around in time with the in-game music? If so, that's a cool feature.

I'm noticing that the portal stars sometimes seem to blend in with the background particularly in its color-and-animated form, which could be confusing to some players. Maybe you could make it stand out a bit more, like by having the animation spin in the opposite direction, or by using a bolder color?
