A quick update
Tidal Tribe has been Greenlit
Description
Release date: Q2 2017
Tidal Tribe is a first-person god game where your only power is raising or lowering the terrain. The world is set on a shore which is constantly hit by waves. The water from these waves must be used to create rivers and lakes which will then let plants grow, your only source of food. These plants have different growth requirements and providing enough of all types is necessary to satisfy all the needs of your NPCs. At the same time though you also gotta pay attention that the waves don't flood and destroy the villages and plants, a lack of fruits and the following poverty might cause even more problems. And who knows what conflicts might arise if someone decides to fence some fertile land and decide that from now on it belongs to himself...

Features
  • Dynamic terrain, water and vegetation (it's like building a sandcastle at the beach... but with plants and little people running around!)
  • 3 game modes: story, free game, challenge
  • (Hopefully) interesting and fun AI: they can cooperate, they can become egotistical jerks, they might have to become criminals. And sometimes they even have to take a bath (always provide enough soap berries!). Oh, and if there's someone you don't like: just flood his hut.
  • Story full of humor (and some political topics). And multiple endings.

FAQ

Is this game like From Dust?
In terms of the terrain and water they are similar. But unlike From Dust there's a big focus on the AI and society simulation, so in the end they play totally different.

Q2 2017 is my current goal, as usually things took a bit longer than expected. Most of the stuff is done though by now, it's mainly finishing some levels and debugging/testing.

Once the game is in its beta I might need some people to test it, yup :)

I love games where you play as god or simulate the world developing! I was wondering if you needed anyone to test out the game and find bugs, which I would be happy to help out.
