Low/Mid-Level -- How to Farm Walleyes for Cash Money in New York

A great guide for low to mid level fishermen who want to farm Walleyes(and possibly catch a unique) for Cash Money in New York. A great spot that's still viable up to Florida.

How to farm Walleyes in New York for Money

Gears

• Casting Rod, use 2-3lb test so you can cast far enough to get the feesh
  
• 1/4oz Yellow Spoon
  
• Aiming for the tree just to the left of the "big tree" about 180-220 feet out
  
• Lift and Drop retrieve
  
• Once you hit 80ft just reel in. Under 80 feet you'll only catch pickerel and perch

Area: The Dock of Peace
Make sure you check your charts (blue graph on the left) to ensure you're fishing at peak time. Rainy pretty much all day, for a sunny day absolutely check your charts. I've heard you can catch a unique walleye on sunny days from 5-7, but I've yet to confirm it.

Nice guide. Just want to add for those going the first time like I did..you may not be able to cast that far. I could only reach 130 feet out so someone told me to get the Aurora 8.3 rod with Wincast 2500 reel using 4 lb braid. Going to try that but if this happens to you and you already spent money for a trip and cannot get walleye just use a red/white casting spoon (better if its 1/2 oz #2/0 or 1/0) and you will pull in some nice Northern Pike for about 60+ exp and some nice cash. If you dont have that either then the yellow with red spoon works well on the left and right of dock for grass pike and sometimes perch
