About the Game

Crowmire - A story driven Virtual Reality horror game.

Themes include psychological thriller, introspection.

Downloadable demo is now available in GameJolt[] and IndieDB.

The Story

Crowmire tells a personal story of depression. While more of us are victims of mental illness, the subject remains a taboo. Something you can't admit to suffer from. And even when you do talk about it with your close friends and family, the reaction might include comments about laziness and bad days resulting even more loneliness. If you tried a little you would feel better. Get over it.

A symptom of depression is also an idea that you deserve this. You aren't supposed to be happy. How could you? Scum like you.

Crowmire is build around an idea that the threat comes from inside. Something dark on the edge of your consciousness that tells you your flaws over and over again. All your failures and regrets. How do you fight something that is not physically anywhere, just beyond your own mind? How do you defeat something that has access to all your weaknesses and fears?

In the depths of your own mind you encounter anxiety, loneliness and helplessness. Crowmire visualizes your emotions into a horror story. What can you do when your mind is your worst enemy?

The doors are closed. Where can you hide from your own mind?

Are you ready to take off your mask?

Who are we?

Crowmire is the firstborn of a Finland based Indie team, Morrow Games. The team is brought together by the love and passion for gaming on all it's forms, combined with top-of-the-line software. The team aspires to create something memorable and to be a part in the evolving of this great art form, video games, for years to come.

@Lunaletheia - Thanks! Wait 'till you see what we've done to the hospital (Oh noes, poor Crowmire) From the get-go, Crowmire was not actually supposed to be a hospital, but more of a surrealistic dream-state, that just happens to resemble a hospital, as you start to play, you find more and more hints of this, as the surreality starts to bleed through, but we've heard your cries, and are currently working on more ways to implement this idea into the game, as in Walls cracking down and showing things that should not be there, and all sorts of hints and clues.

Thanks! We'll be launching a Demo 2.0 (expected launc-date:) on 15th of August.

@Xenomorph Lord
Yes, we're aiming to launch it before or during December.

I'm sorry rotten, although we're going for a more mature audience, we won't have Coitus in our gameplay, thanks for the suggestion tho!

I noticed many people have criticized the developers' decision to have Crowmire's story to take place in a creepy hospital. Yes, it's a cliché but it _works_ and do I want to try something that clearly works with Oculus? - Yes, yes I do. I'm definitely looking forward for the opportunity to test this game!
