We got Greenlit!
Interview on Enemy Slime
Release date: Mid-2016
Rumors resurface. Legends are resurrected.

The Whisperer in Darkness is a visual novel based on the cosmic horror story by H.P. Lovecraft. Play as Albert N. Wilmarth, skeptic and professor at Miskatonic University, as you unravel the hideous secrets centered at a secluded farm in the hills of Vermont, coming ever closer to mortal peril. The story is revealed through painted illustrations, ASCII art, atmospheric sound effects, an unsettling musical score, and frantic email correspondence with a conspiracy theorist who might be a little too close to the truth.

This game began as a prototype for the 2014 Public Domain Jam. Adapted from a public domain story by H.P. Lovecraft, The game itself is open-source and belongs to the public domain. Its art, music, sound effects will all be freely downloadable and you can use them for whatever you want.

Steam Release
Our goal for this Steam release is to bring the game to a wider audience. This means we're also porting the game to Mac and Linux, so it can be enjoyed on almost any kind of computer. We are also adding support for localization into languages beyond English. We will launch on Steam with an official Spanish translation, and hopefully we will be able to add more following release.

The game source is Public Domain? So the game must be free, right?
Well... not quite. We're committed to making The Whisperer in Darkness accessible to as many players as possible, but we will be launching the game on Steam and other stores commercially. Although we have yet to decide on a price, we've agreed that it is fair to ask for compensation for our work when taking special effort to make it available in convenient marketplaces. Steam release is a time consuming process. We've sacrificed development time to prepare for Greenlight, and we would love some financial compensation for going above and beyond. The game's source code and assets will be freely available in other places, but we haven't decided if/where the game itself will be offered for free.

Voted Yes. Le he dado mi voto positivo, porque va a salir traducido al español, pero me gustaría que estuviera a un precio bastante baratillo, cuando salga en venta. :steamhappy:
