Dark Elf Template Mod (v1.2)

This template mod adds the Dark Elves as a fully playable race. With this template you will be able to add new races by just following all the (red) changes made in this mod.

As this is a template mod, the Dark Elf units aren't designed or balanced in a proper way yet.

Okay judging by your screenshots - yeah something's wrong. I get (null) instead of Dark Elf, I don't get the Dark Elf trait on my units (or the models; except horses on cav), or the available skin colors, or the entries in the Book of Wonders :\

Just curious if there needs to be a certain mod order, if I'm missing installing anything else (have tried both with and without Shalthias's Dark Elves mod) ? Their Dark Elves mod also doesn't appear on the list (when you startup the game and go to [user content], not sure if it's supposed to. Um let's see, not sure what else to say to maybe give hints.

Not sure if you're still around the community, but you or anyone else that could help - would love an answer <3

So I don't know if this has been addressed (or is even a real issue); but when selecting the Dark Elves race (whether Shalthias's mod or just your regular template) it comes up "!Dark Elf - Race definition" ?? Is/are the mod(s) still going to work, or is it missing something?

Hello, first of all, I like to say thanks for the great mod. I love to play with the Dark Elfs. I found one error. If you reach stage 4 by the race improvement and choose military option (arkan arrow). This doesn't work and is not available by the archers.

hi, he have a problem with the french translation dark elf is elfe noir in french no haut elfe and some problem with the hero description, ex: in he like and don't like

The city naming glitch is keeping me from using this race, too confusing on XL map with no city names

Hi ramontorres15, not sure what you are trying to achieve or what the question is. You're creating a new Dark Elf Tier 4 unit and want it to be linked in the Dark Elf line up?

@Arnout, How can I set Dark Elf -Race Defrirition under the Race Link or do I keep it as High Elf when making a new unit un the package manger? I',m tring to creare a High Priestess tier 4 unit, do I need something special that is not covered in the AoW3 modding guide?

Correct, this mod doesn't change any of the existing races of Age of Wonders III or DLCs. It just adds the Dark Elves (I've just the Elf packs for this, but I could have added the new Race also in the Dwarf packs).

And if you create a new race next to the Dark Elves within this Mod there should be no conflict! In general just copy all the Dark Elf entries (in Red) to empty entries and rename them accordingly :HappyMask:

Ah no! but this pack you have made does not change the existing units and ive gone through and renamed all the conetent as im going woild that still cause conflict? if say this vanilla template and a renamed whle new completed race were both used would that conflict?

The reason i ask if i made a second race using this template id like them all to co-exist. Oh and cheers for the reply! Its really appreciatede!!

Hi Liberty Valance, good to hear! Yes if I iirc, it might 'clash' if a mod changes same resource packs. In this case the game will pick the resource pack with highest priority. (The priority can be set in the Package Manager). However a lot of mods don't change any packs the Dark Elf Mod uses and the game also checks per entity. More info here []
