I’ve spent some time revising the ‘Ziggy’ pattern following last weeks post about required skins. Initially I tried a few different pattern ideas but always felt that this was more interesting in comparison; there is a beauty in randomness. Earlier in the year I had modified the original pattern several times, each time building up detail and fiddling with the colours to add further interest; I loved the random application, but deep down felt it may have featured too many colours. I've focused on that with these additions.

The XM1014 suited the application really well as it has a long rectangular body and no irritating UV seams breaking the pattern. I checked out the already existing colour schemes of ingame XM skins and discovered all colours were represented -- except purple; that then became the key colour. I then worked up 4 color schemes, 2 of which I’ve uploaded.

I called it Anarchy in homage to the Joker in the Batman universe. He represents chaos to Batman’s rules and order: this pattern is extremely chaotic. He also wears purples and greens which nicely tied in with the theme.


The accompanying colour scheme: Peacock.

As this submission is intended for the lower tier skin categories I’m not expecting to blow anyones socks off, but instead generate a bit of simple visual interest. As always, let me know what you think.
