Seattle, 2050.

The shadows are deep and dark. The SINners live the high life, and the SINless live in the filth of the Barrens. Sometimes, one gets a view of the other, but not often, and not often with good results.

Mercurial is a campaign for new runners, where you'll have the chance to recruit your own team and work a job. Be careful of who you trust. Nothing is what it seems.

Honestly not sure why the way this mod does the matrix isn't included in more UGC. I loved it, seemed like how it should have always been.

Can we get a future UGC made that focuses a lot more on that? Loved all the fun investigation and deduction still where you had to go through the Matrix, investigating all of the offices and places there. It was all so perfect, honestly worth playing just for that.

It happens once in a while... And drives me crazy.

the dragon should only attack once per round. Either melee if you stand too close, or fireball remotely. Fireballs also degrade the rooftop coverage.

Main baddie... (It's been a minute... Morgan?) Also had an extremely high dodge skill. But gets 'stunned' by every hit and slows down. AOE him first, to slow him down the lay on the damage.

There's a bug on the final fight that can skip your turn. If you reload from the auto save, you should be able to play the fight normally.

I enjoyed this module up until the end fights. Seems that the difficulty jumped from mid to Extreme and the finale battle was just "go fuck yourself". I wasn't even able to get a single action, just the enemy going for 4 or 5 turns killing everyone. Not sure what happened here. I'm actually angry that I just wasted a few hours getting to this point.

They were built by the same team... So that makes sense. :)

Thank you for the comment, and glad you saw and enjoyed the tie ins.

My first Shadowrun experience was Dragonfall. After that I decided to give Mercurial a go and it was ok! But what made it even better was that after Mercurial I played Dead Man's Switch via Hong Kong and that Dead Man's Switch campaign had so many references to Mercurial story. So those two games kinda complemented each other, which was cool! I'd say Mercurial and Dead Man's Switch aren't that strong individually but together they make a nice lore-rich experience!

Hope you enjoy it, and we appreciate the comments!

Ah, that explains a lot. Well, you did what you could with the tools and the time you had and I think the end result is still very good.
Also, the matrix scenes were one of my highlights for this UGC, the whole presentation made it feel much more "lived in" instead of the matrix from the official games, which is just kind of... empty.
Will take a look at Response time, thanks for the recommendation.

LOL @ map editor.

We had the supremely talented "Geeked" build the majority of the maps for this, some using preexisting building blocks he'd already created. We tried to fill in some of the empty areas with some mini encounters but we're racing to get this released before Hong Kong came out.

Underutilized crew is accurate... Champagne dreams on a tap water budget in this case, I'm afraid. Our primary character writer, was the same guy who was retrofitting the aging modules plot into this, so something had to give.

Also how we ended up with the LTG matrix scene from Shedim.Kabal... I was the primary scripter, and my basic LTG scene wasn't cutting it. Shedim.Kabal took it over, turned it not just up to 11, but ran 40,000 volts through it and set it on fire. He really did an amazing job with it. (Check out Response time in HKs workshop... That's also his.)

Finished this today and it was definitely time well spent. However, this UGC is not without some issues.
1. Very frantic and immersive story. Pulls you in with its "what the frag is going on?!" thing, but some of the missions and scenes can feel a little bit disjointed because of that.
2. Colorful, but underused teammates. You get a broad selection of companions early on, but the story simply doesn´t do much with them.
3. I may be wrong about this, but I feel like someone had way too much fun with the map editor on this one. Some maps, like the Sunnyside sewers, are simply ginormous with endless empty corridors that could very well have been half this size and still serve much the same purpose.
That said, I still enjoyed Mercurial from start to finish. Good work, chummers.
