Introduction:

This guide will introduce you to the beautiful boxing style of Always Sometimes Monsters. I will keep it simple and clear in order to master this art!
  • Big Dog Boxing Club = clan of warriors, fighters to the core

Fighting in this club requires a Membership Card (Boxing Membership)!
Lesson 1: Basics

In the ring, you start with a full Health bar and Stamina!
When your health bar reaches 0, you lose. Same for your opponent!
But when your stamina reaches 0, you can't use a hit move, so you have to replenish your stamina by dodging!
In Combo-Boxing everything is in sets of 4, for maximum hit efficiency and impact!
Thus, you have 4 moves available: Cross, Jab, Hook, Evade
Your goal in the fight is to use these moves in different combos of 4 till your opponent's health bar reaches 0 and you win!
Lesson 2: Strikes

There are three basic hit types: Cross, Jab and Hook.
When pitted against each other, certain hits are effective and others aren't!

The Trifecta of Pain:
  • Crosses beat Jabs
  • Jabs beat Hooks
  • Hooks beat Crosses

- If you use a hit move like Cross against a Jab, your strike will land and theirs won't. Thus, your opponent's health takes the damage. (-1)
- Of course, the opposite's true as well so be smart when calling your hits!
- Also, matching hits will cancel each other out, glance off each others' gloves! The Stamina will take a toll, but you won't take any damage. Striking tires you out!
Lesson 3: Dodging


Keywords for evading: anticipation and reaction.
Why is dodging important?
  • it'll save you from getting clobbered most of the time
  • it'll give you a chance to catch your breath
- Remember that every fighter's got a style and if you do your research on your opponents, you'll know how to avoid their attack!
- Keep your eyes open for certain tendencies of your opponent!
- Dodging is good for replenishing your Stamina! Every punch you throw drains a little bit of your stamina, but every successul dodge will give you a second to rest up.

How to dodge correctly:
  • Lean your dodge left to avoid Jabs and Crosses.
  • Lean your dodge right to avoid Hooks and Crosses.
  • Lean your dodge back to avoid Hooks and Jabs.

X. Don't dodge left against a Hook!
X. Don't dodge right against a Jab!
X. Don't dodge back against a Cross!

Keep in mind that if you dodge incorrectly, you take -2 damage to your health!

Knowing which way to dodge won't save you all the time, but it'll definitely help you beat the odds.
Lesson 4: Tips & Strategy
  • Learning your opponent's tendencies and coming up with a smart hit strategy is the only way you'll make it out of ring alive!
  • Without a strategy your goose will be cooked eventually! Know you opponent better than you know yourself!
  • If you want to make money as a prized fighter, Big Dog Combo-Boxing is the perfect way, but I advise you to only accept offers over 1000$! (since you can only fight twice a day)
  • Also I usually spam this combo - Cross, Dodge Left, Dodge Left, Cross. It works most of the time.
Final Lesson:
  • Never trust your opponent completely!
    Someone starts causing you trouble out there in the real world, fair's the last thing that'll be on their mind.

Cross, dodge left, dodge left, cross, worked for me perfectly. "Balls Out" had no chance. Thank you for this guide. Supremely underrated.
