Once you have installed windows 10, updated it through the update system settings tab, install steam as normal.

Then locate counterstrike global offensive folder -

STEP 2

Right click on the CSGO.EXE > Go To >

"compatibility > locate tick box *disable display scaling on high DPI Setting's"

Tick this box and click ok , This setting fixes the lag behind the mouse to align best with the precision fix.

Load you're game as you would normally and enjoy the new mouse precision!



Make Sure you're operating system is also up to date ~ ie latest windows 10 build

1.Disable Windows Defender. **Need windows 10 PRO**

Run, gpedit.msc then > Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Defender> Turn off Windows Defender> Enabled

This app takes up so much cpu cycles and causes a problem with safe questionable files downloaded. If you're into heavy gaming and want the best performance, disable this. If youre new to the internet and download content which may possibly have a virus then leave it on but it wont do any good. Just get Kaspersky anti virus instead.

2. Disable SmartScreen Filter

Use Search and type smartscreen, and select change smartscreen settings (Desktop App). Select Change windows smartscreen settings, then dont do anything.

3. Keyboard Shift Sticky keys

In Ease of Access in Control, select change how your keyboard works,

Select Set up Sticky Keys> Untick "turn on sticky keys when SHIFT is pressed five times"

Select Set up Filter Keys > untick "Turn on Filter Keys when right SHIFT is pressed for 8 seconds"

4. Unsafe files which bother you to asking you're sure you want to open a file.

Search for internet explorer and select it (Desktop APP)

Go in settings, and select the security settings and select the custom level.

Find "launching applications and unsafe files (not secure), tick Enable (not secure)

5. Disable Prefetch and Superfetch for no random hitching in pc games.

Search for Services.msc (or Services DESKTOP APP) and go into it and find Superfetch. Startup type is Disabled and stop the service.

Search for regedit (run command) and go in,

Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Change screen saver > Change Power Settings> Select and tick high performance > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > select Change settings that are currently unavailable > Require a password on wakeup / NO > Hard Disk / Turn off hard disk after / 0 or NEVER (it will change to this after you put 0.

This one damages hdd and ssds when on due to garbage collection being screwed for ssd and the hdd excessive wear when resuming when turned off.

Windows 10 Qos Setting Up

Windows + R Type "GPEDIT.MSC"

Then Under Sections ON Computer Configuration + User Configuration
Go To Tab's Window's Settings. You will now see Policy Based Qos

Right click Policy Based Qos- Advanced Qos Setting's. This section is only available on the Computer configuration.
Now you will see two tab's called Inbound TCP Traffic And DSCP Marking Override.
Select the first tab , tick the box called specify the inbound TCP throughput Level and select you're choice , for gaming and internet priority i usally would select Maximum level 3.

Select tab 2 DSCP marking if you're using a virtual LAn to mark packets.

Then ON Both section's Computer Configuration + User Configuration Right click Policy-Based Qos and Create New Policy. Input a Name for example

Policy Name "Doom"

Specify DSCP Value "untick if not on a virtual Lan"

Specify Outbound Throttle Rate

Type whatever you would like Try to keep this high for example

Edge traversal, Select Allow edge traversal, this will allow more packets through and the more you receive the more data you can require, ie packets which also send data like when you shoot someone in a game on multiplayer.! Do this for other applications you want like streaming service's etc. Then hit ok

Killer NIC Ethernet Driver Settings Optimization

You may see improved results by setting your advanced settings as such:

ARP Offload: Disabled (When enabled, this offloads some CPU work to the network adapter. Unless your CPU is struggling, this is undesirable)

ECMA: Disabled (Specific Wake-On-LAN technology that can be a potential security issue. Disable unless you know you need it.)

Energy Efficient Ethernet: Disabled (may use slightly more power, but will prevent conflicts with switches, routers, or modems that do not use this feature appropriately)

Flow Control: Disabled (TCP has its own flow control, and this can cause conflicts. UDP usage is rare enough that a dropped packet should not cause any impact.)

Interrupt Moderation: Disabled (Groups packets before sending them. Not desirable for most uses and can cause slowdowns)

IPv4 Checksum Offload: Disabled (When enabled, this offloads some CPU work to the network adapter. Unless your CPU is struggling, this is undesirable)

Jumbo Frame: Disabled (Unless you know you are using the machine as a server with jumbo frame support, this is not desirable.)

Receive Buffers: 1024 or experiment. (Increasing this setting will cause your network adapter to use more RAM for processing received data, but may improve performance. Experiment with your specific machine. May not affect latency at all.)

Receive Side Scaling: Enabled (This will allow the NIC to send received data to multiple CPU cores)

Shutdown Wake Up: Disabled. (Only relevant if you intend to use Wake-on-LAN when the machine is shut down. Most BIOSes do not support this. Might cause the computer to wake unexpectedly when enabled.)

Speed & Duplex: Auto-Negotiation (This allows the NIC to operate at 1 Gbps link speeds if the rest of the network negotiates appropriately. Will otherwise revert to 100 Mbps link speed.)

SWOI: Doesn’t Matter (Security Wake On Internet – only relevant for Wake-On-LAN applications over the Internet using compatible technology – does not affect latency.)

TCP Checksum Offload: Disabled (When enabled, this offloads some CPU work to the network adapter. Unless your CPU is struggling, this is undesirable)

UDP Checksum Offload: Disabled (When enabled, this offloads some CPU work to the network adapter. Unless your CPU is struggling, this is undesirable)

Transmit Buffers: 1024 (Increasing this setting will cause your network adapter to use more RAM for processing transmit data but may improve performance. Experiment with your specific machine. May not affect latency at all. 1024 is maximum.)

VLAN ID: This setting doesn’t matter. (Only used if your ISP requires your Ethernet to use VLAN, as is the case where one modem is serving multiple households. This setting will not affect latency.)

Wake-on-magic-packet: Disabled (only relevant for Wake-On-LAN applications over the Internet using compatible technology. Will not affect latency, and may cause the machine to wake unexpectedly when enabled.)

Wake on pattern match: Disabled (only relevant for Wake-On-LAN applications over the Internet using compatible technology. Will not affect latency, and may cause the machine to wake unexpectedly when enabled.)



In Windows , administrators can set the maximum number of RSS CPUs This can be helpful with cpu's with more core's and thread's with the MaxNumRssCpus registry keyword in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ndis\Parameters. The MaxNumRssCpus value is a DWORD type and, if it is not present, NDIS uses the default value of 4. This registry keyword also applies to later versions of Windows Server.

To avoid complicated cases (and unrealistic cases that are not implemented in actual hardware) where the number of available hardware receive queues is less than the number of RSS CPUs, administrators must not set the MaxNumRssCpus value to a value that is greater than 16.

The actual number of CPUs that are used for RSS is also limited by the total number of core processors that remain after the RSS base CPU number has been configured. For example, if the administrator sets the maximum number of RSS CPUs on a quad-core computer system to 6, the networking driver stack uses, at most, 4 CPUs for RSS. If the administrator also sets the RSS base CPU number to 1, the networking driver stack uses at most 3 CPUs (CPU numbers 1, 2, and 3).

The number of CPUs that the computer uses for RSS is static and does not change at run time. Therefore, any changes to the MaxNumRssCpus registry value require a restart to take effect.

Page file is the reserved memory on hard drive used as an extension of RAM. This memory contains data that was not recently used by RAM, and transferred to hard disk. Paged pool is a portion of memory that stores the pages with intention to move them to the page file, while non-paged pool is a contrariwise concept that stores the pages but never moves them to page file.
Enabling both the values, require postulating the exact size in bytes. It is suitable to disable these values to put the system in charge of calculating prime value, which adjusts dynamically. The value for Paged Pool size may range between 1MB to 512MB. However, it is recommended to set 192MB.

By enabling these values, you are aimed at limiting the memory resources to each single process. If in case, the process tries to exceed the allocated quota, it would fail. Therefore, it is recommended to leave it disabled or disable it (if enabled). Both the values are enabled by specifying the size of memory, allocated to non-paged pool and paged pool, respectively. This size ranges between 1MB and 128MB, and is assigned through Value data. On the other hand, disabling these values authorize the system to calculate an optimal value for both the entries based on current physical memory, and auto-adjusts in case of change in memory size. Physical Address Extension, generally known as PAE, is the technology that enables 32-bit operating system to access more than 4GB memory, up to 64GB or 128GB, depending on the physical address size of processor. A 64-bit system has the ability to access more than 4GB RAM, and does not necessitate PAE. If you have a 32-bit Windows with sufficient RAM, you need to enable this value in the Registry Editor.

SSD's using the intel sata3 controller interface "not marvel" will experience stutter or lack of bandwith issue's. This is an incompatibility issue with the LPM (Link Power Management) feature of Intel SATA controllers. LPM is a power saving feature. Considering the prevalence of Intel SATA controllers, I’m really surprised that Crucial/Intel/Samsung didn’t catch this before they shipped their drives, or at least didn’t have a firmware fix available shortly after shipping.

To fix the issue, LPM needs to be disabled. It can be disabled with a registry change:

Windows 10 Development Team - “Our goal is to make Windows 10 the best Windows ever for gaming,” says Mike Ybarra on the Xbox Wire blog. “With the Creators Update, we’re introducing a new feature called Game Mode. Windows Insiders will start seeing some of the visual elements for Game Mode this week, with the feature being fully operational in builds shortly thereafter. Our vision is for Game Mode to optimize your Windows 10 PC for increased performance in gaming.”

The way Microsoft intends Game Mode to work is by prioritising hardware resources (processor and graphics silicon) for a particular game when you’ve got it running in the foreground, minimising your PC's call on your hardware for background processes.

For the GPU it is aiming to allow a Game Mode enabled title to have greater access to the graphics card’s processing cycles. In theory that should mean background processes won’t suddenly demand GPU resources for itself, making your gameworld periodically glitch out and your frame rates tank.

On the CPU side Microsoft suggest Game Mode will be apportioning a dedicated amount of your chip’s thread count to the selected game with a reserve held over for background processes. These background processes won’t then be able to dig into the penned off portion of the CPU a Game Mode title is using, which should bring a greater level of consistency to your gaming experience.

Microsoft also say it’s an OS level feature and won’t discriminate between games running on the Universal Windows Platform (UWP), Win32 games, DirectX 12, DirectX 11 or any other API. That doesn’t mean that it will work equally well for all games - Microsoft says that while it will work on any PC game UWP titles might see a higher performance boost than Win32.

You want to download a program called FFDSHOW.

Once downloaded , extract , run and install. Once installed run the program and select "Video Decoder Configuration" in the selection page. Next scroll down the list of Codec's. In this list look for MJPEG, select it and select decoder default will list disabled, change this to libavcodec.

Then open open broadcasting software/studio , ie. OBS

Once in OBS select you're scene - secound tab select webcam - right click- go to probertie's.

Resolution/fpstype - set to Custom

Resolution - set to what you webcam support's. Example 1920x1080
Fps- Set to Match output fps, unless using a dvlr or highspec camera set to max fps that the device handle's.
Video Format- set to MJPEG
Color Space- Set to DEFAULT
Color Range- Set to DEFAULT
Buffering- Set to DISABLE
Click OK

GameBoostHD is a tiny application that will watch for various game launches. When a game is detected, GameBoostHD will lower the priority of common background apps that often use CPU. This includes things like game launchers (Battle.Net, Steam, etc) and web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE). The system power profile will also be set to "High Performance" while a game is running. This will hopefully improve performance of the game (increased FPS and fewer stutters) as it won't be competing for timeslices with other processes.

The idea behind this came about when I was playing Overwatch and noticed the Battle.net launcher was using up to 12% of my CPU due to the animated GIFs and javascript and whatever else it was running. Using GameBoostHD won't reduce the CPU usage percent - it only alters the scheduling priority. For example, after running GameBoostHD, the Battle.net launcher will never be allowed to "steal" CPU attention from Overwatch, but if there is spare CPU power it is still allowed to use it.

Usage
GameBoostHD has no installer or user interface. Simply run the .exe file and the program will be running. It will work continuously until a shutdown / reboot. It's written in C / Win32 API so it's extremely lightweight and will use minimal resources running in the background. If you want it to run when you start your PC (recommended), make a shortcut to it in your Start / Programs / Startup folder or set up a scheduled task.

How to disable the Diagnostics Tracking Service

The service does not appear to be a critical system service that needs to run at all. Considering that it was just added, it is fair to say that disabling it may not affect the underlying system or at the very most only marginally.

The service is not protected in any way which means that you can disable it using the Services manager.

Tap on the Windows-key, type services and hit enter.
Locate the service Diagnostics Tracking Service and double-click on it,
Activate the startup type menu and select disabled from it. This disables the services' autostart.
Click the stop button afterwards to stop the running process. This stops the service for the current session.

Unlock Window's 10 Ultimate Power Plan

You’ll need to open the Command Prompt or PowerShell with administrative privileges. Install these when installing the nvidia drivers, go custom install and install just the display drivers and hd audio. The biggest performance killer driver is .... the physx driver!!!!

Strangly this driver under windows 10 cripples performance in physx games such as lords of the fallen and others by causing hitching and bad performance but strangly enough the gpu is still doing the work for physx even tho the driver isnt there. i found this very odd and titles performance even better with zero hitching with this driver gone.

Most important drivers you need for your system is the intel chipset, intel MEI and intel rapid storage. The versions are even more important!

to see what other driver's are causing you high dpc on window's 10 , so you know which to update/ or downgrade, to whatever give's you the best dpc.

The only relevant setting is "bcdedit /set x2apicpolicy disable" and you will fallback to xAPIC.

By default Windows 10 uses advanced timers in the CPU to calculate stuff. HPET is the newest atimer to window's 8.1 but window's 10 use's an even more advanced method but if you are spiking on high dpc you can try the older timer for window's 8.1 if youre hardware ant up to modern standard., Forcing Windows to use HPET only improves performance and leads to greater FPS in older system's that were fully compatible for os's like windows 7,8,8.1.
Steps to enable this tweak:
1. Enable HPET in BIOS. If you have HPET option in BIOS then your hardware can support HPET.
2. Enable HPET in Windows by giving this command in admin credential CMD:
bcdedit /set useplatformclock true
bcdedit /set disabledynamictick
3. Reboot


To revert incase you are on modern system that is fully compatible with window's 10 an a
CPU that has invariant TSC, using HPET would only increase overload.

To disable it just paste "bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock" into your cmd.

0-Boot-Specifies a driver that is loaded (but not started) by the boot loader. If no errors occur, the driver is started

2-Auto Load-Specifies a driver or service that is initialized at system startup by Session Manager (Smss.exe) or the Services

3-On Demand-Specifies a driver or service that the Service Control Manager (SCM) will start only on demand.
These drivers have to be started manually by calling a Win32 SCM application programming interface (API), such

4-Disable-Specifies a disabled (not started) driver or service.

5-Delayed Start-Specifies that less-critical services will start shortly after startup to allow the operating system to be responsive to
the user sooner. This start type was first introduced in Windows Vista.

Only with 5 works together with MSI Fast Boot, default is 3.

This guide section is for those with Keplar, maxwell and maxwell gen 2 card's only and pascal/turing.

Overclocking "I wont dive to deep into this subject but i will say there is many overclocking club's for each card , ie. 660gtx overclock club etc"

To overclock install software Raise GPU Voltage to full and Termal / Power Limit also to full. If on waterblock's Raise Fan Curve for a even more silent cooling solution. If on Air or Factory Fan Layout's Raise Fan Curve to a suitable DB / cooling level.

To overclock raise core clock/ Shader/ Memory by 50mhz a time until you start seeing artifact's ingame/ bench marking or you're system freeze's. Then remember what the number's were when it was'nt stable. Reduce these numbers by 50mhz again and acept. Enjoy The new performance.

Card's can be overclocked using company software, bio's flashing the hardware or firmware flashing.

Simply fire it up (with admin rights), it will list all hardware in your system and the irq's assigned. If its a positive irq number then its using legacy aka line interrupts, and you should see the MSI box unticked.
If its using MSI it will show a negative number and should have the MSI box ticked.

For everyone who has tried this, all they had to do was tick the MSI box next to their gpu device, hit apply and reboot, thats it. That is also all I had to do, was no need to reinstall drivers or anything, just enable, apply and reboot. But just in case there is an issue at the very least its recommended to make a system restore point first.

This can offer improvements if you find you get stutters etc, related to IRQ bottlenecks. You are also less likely to have stability issues.

Basically what you do:
Open regedit
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> services -> nvlddmkm -> DisplayDatabase
Find the folder with your (cryptic) monitor name you want to use the custom DSR resolutions on. (for me this was 'ACI27EC_2A_07DF_97' for the PG279Q, it's usually filled with more registry keys)
Export the registery of your monitor, make two copies of the file, keep one for a back-up.

Fill the native resolution of the monitor in at the top fields and keep the 33% smoothness, fill the rest of the fields with resolutions you wish DSR to be making available above your native resolution.
In the calculator click on the button 'Get Hex'.
Copy the data from the 'Get Hex' field.
Open the exported .reg registry file.
Replace the entire "SmoothScalingData" line in the registry file with the data from the 'Get Hex' field and save it. (don't worry about it becoming a single line instead of multiple in the file)
Execute the modified .reg registry file and click 'yes' on the warning pop-up.
The resolutions have been added, but it requires a system reboot to apply, however, if you want to make the resolutions active without a system reboot, read below:
Go to: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/device_manager_view.html and download the utility. (x64 for x64 Windows)
Unpack devmanview to a folder.
Create a .bat file in the same folder, add the following command: devmanview /disable_enable "XXX" and save it.
Run DevManView.exe
Scroll down to device names starting with a 'N' and right click -> 'Copy Selected Items' on the Nvidia GPU.
Paste it to a text file, keep only the GPU name, example: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
Open/edit the .bat file and replace XXX with the GPU name, such as: devmanview /disable_enable "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti", then save the file.
Run the .bat file, the video adapter will reset and screens may momentarily flash. (possibly run as Admin)

Congratulations, if you done all steps right you should be able to see your custom DSR resolutions!
Keep in mind you may have to re-do this process if you update your video drivers.

Laptops with legacy products not support and are discontinued due to age of hardware limit's, can use the ati or nvidia tools , to install the latest driver's, to add new features and for a smoother experience.

Step 1 :- Install The Lastest Nvidia Driver Set "http://nVIDIA dRIVERS"

As of writing this article the driver base number is "390.65" @ 32bit/ 64bit -win7,8,8.1 and win 10

Step 2 :- Restart to load the latest driver's

Step 3 :- Launch Nvidia Control Panel, Go To Manage 3D Setting/ Global Setting's Tab

Now you will see two extra boxes defaulted to OFF

DSR Factor And DSR Scale *33%*

Now Go into DSR Factor And enable all the tick boxes to load them RESOLUTION SIZES

DSR SCALE CAN BE TWEAKED TO YOURE LIKING , WHAT THIS SETTING DOE'S IS LET YOU SELECT DOWN TO 05 FOR SMOOTHNESS OR 100% FOR SHARPNESS , YOU PICK UP TO YOU WHAT YOU PREFER ON THIS, ID SAY START OFF WITH 20% OR LEAVE AT DEFAULT , REMEMBER THE MORE SHARPNESS YOU ADD BY THE SLAIDER THE MORE CPU RESOURCE IT WILL NEED.

Now when you hit apply on the nvidia control panel the screen will flash a sec to load the new monitor settings.

**You can also apply seperate profile's to game's to run at higher resolution's by Nvidia geforce Experience's game scan feature set.**

Step 4 :- Now you will notice that youre monitor still look's the same but if you now go into you're windows display settings.

ie- right click desktop on windows/ display setting's/ Resolution There is now more sizes added to you're slider these are created by DSR.

Now i wouldnt suggest selecting a 4k resolution for example for desktop as all youre icons will shrink. This can be fixed after they shrink by increasing gradually till you find a setting you like the DPI scale and layout section in windows/ display setting's/. But i can say that using something like 2700x1519 etc Should be ok for desktop! As this is 2K.

Step 5 :- Launch you're favourite game, now go to the game's setting tab and find the Resolution section, and browse through them till you see youre new 4k for example SIZE . Remove any Anti-antialasing feautres you previously had on as at 4k this is just not needed etc. And you'll be taxing you're gpu for No reason as at higher resolution's Anti-antialasing is'nt effient as the clarity of the screen is so much more enhanced with 4k that anti-antialasing becomes a useless feature set.

Select you're desired resolution ie 4000x , Hit apply!

Also make sure you select the right mircophone as many have one also on there webcam's)

Show upload stat's (Use for debugging , so you know if a game is hogging you're upload speed which to then tune you're setting to , to reduce lag ingame or on stream)

Always show live status (i Recommend this setting as it will let you easily configure you're setting and see chat)

Select nvidia if you are using the x264 nvidia shaowplay/nvidiashare processor.
Select amd if you are using there card.
Select iGPU if you are using a intel GPU built into processor's like a i5 2500 @ intel hd 3000 serie's which will stream by quicksync.

Limit resolution to (Default stage is recommended, ie the resolution of you're input device ie PC, going to you're output device ie TV)

Speaker configuration (5.1) Tv will then convert into DTS / Dolby/ THX or a smaller sound format if using 2.1 soundbar's etc.

Enable hardware decoding (this feature should be turned on)

CPU Mining Optimization

xmr-stak-cpu and xmrig support locked\huge pages, it will give more performance if enabled.

How to enable:

Automatically
Run bin\xmrig\xmrig.exe as administrator (xmrig must actually open, which means the valid config file must be present or proper command line options are entered)
Restart PC
That's it! You can verify it was enabled by running xmrig and checking the huge pages status at the top of the window

Xmr-stak-cpu optimizations
Please note that CPUs without AES / AES-NI extension are not supported. You can check your CPU details on CPU World website.

If you have a recent Intel CPU and you are used to overclock CPU, you can tune some CPU cache settings in order to achieve best performance. You can try to set BIOS setting CPU Cache Ratio to the same value as your max CPU Ratio. For example if a CPU Ratio for a 4.5 GHz Intel CPU with 100 MHz BLCK is 45, then the Min and Default CPU Cache Ratio has also to be set to 45. As always, be careful with overclocking and keep in mind that overclocking or forcing manual settings might void your hardware warranty or damage your hardware.

By default the optimal number of used CPU Threads is automatically determined during benchmark. This setting is set for each algorithm in "Less Threads" setting (Settings / Devices/Algorithms / CPU / selected algorithm / Less Threads field). Please note that NiceHash Miner might utilize 100% of your CPU - thus not leaving some adequate CPU power for the background processes (such as GPU mining if you are also using GPUs in your system). If you wish to leave some thread/core unused by CPU mining, then you should set "Less Threads" to a value, greater than 0 (1 = leave 1 thread unused, 2 = 2 leave 2 threads unused, etc.).

If you have a CPU with Hyper-Threading support (HT), then you might also want to experiment with special "Extra Launch Settings" (Settings / Devices/Algorithms / CPU / selected algorithm / Extra Launch Settings field). If you enter enable_ht=true in this field, and set "Less Threads" to 0, then NHM will use per-core affinity and run mining only on physical cores, leaving HT threads unused. In some cases this yields in a bit higher performance. You'll notice that only 50% of overall CPU utilization will be show by Task Manager or similar utilities, however due to the nature of mining algorithms and the nature of how Hyper-Threading works, 100% of CPU compute power will actually be used.
