D&RGW Train 771 [GWD268]

Description
Rio Grande Train 771 is a unit coal train operating between Helper and Provo, Utah, where the tonnage is interchanged to the Union Pacific for transport to the port of Los Angeles for export. You are the engineer of Train 771 and having just made your stop at the top of Soldier Summit to cut off your helpers, you are now ready to make the descent of the 2 percent grades of Soldier Summit's west slope. You have a quartet of EMD SD40T-2s as power and you'll soon be using their braking systems. This scenario, of 65 minutes duration, requires the Soldier Summit route.

Great scenario. Found the braking systems easy to use so I had a good downhill run with no problems. Thanks for creating.

m4dbr43d0n: Best way to find lists of train numbers and/or train symbols for freight operations on various railroads is to do Google searches, lots of info here and there online. :)

PS: I see that I still have much to learn.

Oh, ok. I was looking at the consolidated freight timetables from the Utah division from the 60s-70s. That might explain some things, also, how can you find all of your train numbers and their route descriptions? As a railfan, I really like to look at those.

m4dbr43d0n: At the time the route is set (1983 or so), D&RGW operated train 771. It was a unit coal train movement from Helper, Utah to the Union Pacific, over which it continued to LA (as mentioned in the scenario description). Not sure what timetable you are referencing as freights typically are not individually listed in timetables.
