I only have ~8 FPS, that's why I want to find the cause of the lag
What I did exactly, step-by-step:
(1) Ran the game and loaded a savegame. Then, clicked on the Menu button at the top-right corner and performed the following command: [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[/]+[*]+[-]. As I play on a laptop, I used an USB keyboard with a numpad to press the last three characters of that command.
(2) Then, I checked if I had entered the Cheat Mode by performing the following command: [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[G]. The GUI toggled off, then I confirmed having entered the Cheat Mode.
(3) Then, I tried performing the command suggested by Tsundak (2 Feb 2017 @ 3:56am): [Ctrl]+[0] to switch between RTS Camera Mode and Free Camera Mode. The only immediate effect was rotating the camera clockwise, still as it normally does in RTS Camera Mode, but not what I expected it to do in Free Camera Mode.
Final Results: After I tried repeatedly these suggestions, and even after trying tweaking with them a bit (just in case they were actually slightly different from what was suggested), however I tried in various ways, none of them got me in Free Camera Mode.
Conclusion: If anybody here can help me get to see my city like this: (http://media1.webgarden.name/images/media1:4be6d88364369.jpg/The%20Settlers%207%202.jpg); I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for any practical advice.
