Play Swat Team at the Philadelphia Science Festival!
Release date: Summer 2015

Get ready for some fast-paced bug v. flyswatter action! Swat Team is a two-player local multiplayer game. One player takes control of a human whose screen door is plagued with bugs. The other player directs a bug on the screen door. The human’s goal is simple - squash the bug and rid yourself of your bug problem. However, the bug has a more nuanced view of this situation. This bug is a larger one - it preys on smaller bugs, controlling the human’s bug problem. If the bug can eat a sufficient amount of small bugs, it can prove to the human that its existence is worthwhile.

Old Faithful
The classic swatter. Balanced and dependable in any situation.

An ancient anvil imbued with holy power. Large and strong, but slow. Also has a bug-sized hole in the center.

Le Petit Tapette
The fastest swatter of them all. However, its rocket boost makes it slow to recover after use.

Les Peter Bug Sweeper
The strings fall off, creating a cacophonous noise that confuses the bug.

Not the fastest, but not too slow either. Can make a sticky web.

Very, very fast. Can dash by fluttering her wings.

Has a stinger, but dies shortly after using it.

There’s not just one, but a whole swarm moving in lockstep.

Has a stinger, but it’s weak. Grows fat quickly from sucking blood.

Bug guzzling with a story! This is the definitive Swat Team mode. The bug must eat 25 gnats to prove its worth to the human. The human has to terminate the bug!

Ten years have passed since the events of classic mode. The bug and human have reached a truce. The bug has built a house on the screen door, and lives out its days in relative peace and happiness. During these years, a berry bush has been slowly growing on the door. After ten years, the berries are finally ripe. In a fit of selfishness, the bug breaks the truce and steals the berries. The human dusts off their flyswatters and prepares to put the bug back in its place!

Q. When will Swat Team be released?
A. As soon as possible! If Swat Team is Greenlit, we would release it sometime in June.

Q. How much will Swat Team cost?
A. We haven’t finalized this yet, but it’ll be somewhere around $2.

Q. Can I play this game online?
A. No, sorry. Swat Team only has local multiplayer. We think that games like this are more fun when you’re playing in the same room.

Q. Will this game work with controllers?
A. Yes! Swat Team has full controller support.

Q. Why does the bug keep getting bigger?
A. Because it’s eating so many gnats!

Q. Does this game work on Linux?
A. Yes! We’re targeting all operating systems.

Q. I found this game on Ludum Dare / and it was bad. How do I know this will be good?
A. We made those versions a long time ago. The version of Swat Team we hope to release on Steam has a countless number of improvements, including new art, balancing, a new mode, and new characters.
