Now on Early Access!
Last Round of Beta Testing before Early Access!
Release date: Fourth quarter 2015
Cascadia Games is proud to announce that it has licensed the rights to create a sequel to the classic MS-DOS racing game, Wacky Wheels! Race like it's 1994 all over again. It's retro fun with tight tracks and a variety of power-ups for added intensity.

Wacky Wheels 2015 recreates and enhances the original experience, with HD "mode 7" graphics and all new tracks inspired by the original. The entire gang is back: Uno, Sultan, Morris, Peggles, Razer, Ringo, Blombo, Tigi plus introducing Hari the grizzly bear!

3D Realms' Scott Miller and the original game's co-creator Andy Edwardson are part of the development process, lending their insights as work continues on the game.

Challenge Your Friends
Up to four players can play together on the same screen, or challenge friends halfway across the world with online multiplayer mode.

Mod Support
Cascadia Games is committed to supporting the modding community. We will provide fans with the ability to create their own karts and tracks! Use the game's built-in themes or add your own.

  • Classic kart racing gameplay with tight tracks and balanced power-ups
  • 16 race tracks, each with a unique theme inspired by the original
  • Wacky combat, duck hunt, grand prix, and time trial modes
  • Up to 4 players local and online multiplayer
  • Mirror mode flips the track layouts for a new challenge
  • The original soundtrack remastered
  • HD cartoon "mode 7" art style
  • Ample opportunities to pick up and chuck hedgehogs

Did you get permission to use this game name from 3D Realms?

There's a natural drift that happens as you slide around curves, but we opted against an extra drift button. Hopefully it strikes a nice balance between old and new. Apologies that I haven't updated the site.... networking continues to be a drag. I have tentative plans to get this guy up on Early Access without online multiplayer added. But I need to wrap a few things up first.

will this version have drift boosts like new kart games or it will be exactly like the old whacky wheels? I think it would add more depth

Also, just so folks know, we're getting close to the next round of beta testing. We gutted and rewrote the code underneath online multiplayer, since we had so many issues with our first implementation. Our expectation is to start testing that feature again next week and then move into the next round of testing right after.

Honestly we wanted to do something different than the multitude of generic 3D kart racing games, hence the retro look. :)

Probably would have looked better with 3D Graphics... But then again thats what Mario karts is a 3D clone of Wacky Racers.. And the seem to be like a million clones of Mario karts

What is the button-combo to throw money at this!?!? So frustrating. You have some money. You've found something you want to throw it at. And then there's no throw-money-at-button!
