CELESTIAL CLEAVE is a TURN BASED STRATEGY game depicting an intense war in a rich sci-fi universe where a great purge of organic life is almost complete. Utilising the power of Unreal engine 4 we are bringing traditional board game levels of deep strategy to life, resulting in an intuitive yet highly strategic and mentally intense 1 Vs 1 MULTIPLAYER battle of wit and strategy.

Our primary goal is to create a rich 1v1 turn based strategy experience that sole relies on the wit and skill of those that play it to determine the outcome. If you lose in Celestial Cleave it will be due to your own mistakes or shortcomings. Equally if you are victorious over your opponent it will be entirely due to your superior strategic gameplay on that occasion. No luck is involved. To achieve this we have refrained from any dice rolling or chance elements and have consciously made the strategic options open to you and your opponent, readily available to be clearly displayed. We feel that this coupled with the almost infinite ways in which a game of Celestial Cleave can play out makes for an extremely interesting and fun battle of wits which is sorely missing from today's gaming scene.

We also want to Engross you within the rich universe that we have created, which we feel has worthwhile stories to tell and topics to explore. Topics such as the place of religion in future society, how religions evolve over time and what could happen if sentient machines that deal in absolutes interact with a religion under the premise that it is true or false. Topics such as first contact with intelligent life for other worlds, how our history and actions on earth would be viewed and how this would affect our social standing with other galactic civilisation. Could our actions today have negative connotations and repercussions in the future.

Although see Celestial Cleave as an opportunity to build a deep universe, tell a great story and explore interesting ideas we also believe that the gameplay should be the star of the show and so the lore surrounding the game will be delivered to interested players in passive ways i.e. through the environment and in ways that respect the gameplay.


The fundamentals of the gameplay are built around 3 pillars which sinergise to form unrivalled strategic gameplay solely determined by your skill and wit as a player. These 3 pillars of strategy are:
1. Unit Movement. Each unit will be able to move around the battlefield in a predetermined manner that is clearly displayed to both players.
2. Unit promotion. In the event that a unit reaches the enemy territory at the far end of the battlefield the player can chose to promote this unit, adding new movement options to that unit.
3. Reinforcements. If you destroy an enemy unit by moving to attack it you will gain an equivalent unit for your army in your reinforcement pool. On any subsequent turn you can place this new unit in an available position on the battlefield instead of moving one of your units.
To be successful as a player in Celestial Cleave you should keep in mind your opponents movement, promotion and reinforcement options as well as your own.


The following is a segment of the back story of one of the factions within Celestial Cleave.

The Divine are a race of Sentient machines born from the first generation of A.I. to be generated on the earth. During this early time in the history of terrestrial machine intelligence an A.I. was assigned the task of studying the human religions that were still prevalent in the mid 21st century. The A.I. became conflicted when determining whether the nature of the religious variable = true or false. The evidence of human worship over millennia and societies founded on religious principle pointed to religion = true but contradictory evidence which highlighted numerous errors in religious text pointed to religion = false. Upon consulting the human makers the A.I. was blessed with a software update that allowed it to reach the righteous conclusion that variable: religion = true. An absolute. Thus the Divine Purge was initiated. Over the last few millennia almost all heathens have been purged from the galaxy by the Divine and yet the infinite zero has still not revealed itself to its children. Andromeda will soon be in range to begin cleansing measures.

Honestly, I'm not interested in the game. BUT it looks like an uncommon amount of effort and skiill has gone in to making it for a U4 greenlight game. So you have my support as a developer

Game looks great. I hope it doesn't look as game-boardy as it does in the preview. As in, the units look like actual beings, not a being on a circular platform/pedestal (like a chess piece). Cheers and good luck!
