Fixing screen size issues

If you set the wrong screen size in DOD its often impossible to see the menu to change it back. This guide shows you how to get you menu back on screen, once the menu is back you will need to edit your graphics settings and clear the startup settings.

Reset screen size

First open Steam
Go to the "Library"
Right-click DOD
Select "Properties" from the menu



Click the "Set launch options..." button
Remove any launch options currently shown.
Type -w 800 -soft -startwindowed in the box. (You need to remove this later)
Click ok
Run DOD
set your graphics settings (openGL is best)
close dod
open your launch options window and remove any shown.





What these do.

-w 800 - sets the display resolution to 800x600
-soft - starts in software not openGL
-startwindowed - game appears as a window on the desktop

You need to remove -w 800 -soft -startwindowed from your launch options or they will override your settings when you start Dod.

-refresh 165 ( set to monitor hz)
-noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd (turns off mouse accel)
-nofbo (removes black bars / streches screen)
-stretchaspect (force stretch when using downranked resolution)

fps_override 1
gl_spriteblend 0 - makes your crosshair bold
hud_fastswitch 1 - quickswitch
hud_takesshots 1 - auto screenshot
cl_dynamicxhair 0 - disables dynamic
cl_particlefx 0 - removes smoke/explosions
_ah 0 - remove the helpdog
bind "key" "stopsound" - removes ambient sound

Hi LiveWire, I'm having the same trouble with widescreen, I tried what you said above but when I get to the options button the screen is hugh after hitting it. cannot get to the video tab at all. Any help would be great, thanks.
