Description
Ajaccio located on the island of Corsica in France. A nice setting offering lot's of diversity: mountains, flatlands, seaside, rivers, forests and agricultural fields. And thanks to the magic of video games, we can even find oil there!

I can of course share the savegame if you want - using a lot of mods though (see my profile for my collection), and it's only about 30k citizens atm :) - If you want some nice screenshots you can check out the screenshots in my profile, most of them are from your map. Feel free to use them as you wish :)

My favorite map so far. Good job!

hmm I thought the area around the mouth of the river is pretty flat...though I didn't get to build an airport yet. I guess I'll see when I get there :D

I did not miss any other rail connection, again I felt it was a tactical choice of unlocking the needed tiles. Imho I think you should keep it as true to real life as possible,

Btw, I had huge problems building an airport on this map due to the terrain not being flat - but with the new terraforming mod that is available, I managed to flatten out some terrain to build it - cost a fortune though :) It seems like such a large building is extremely picky on getting flat terrain.

Alright thanks Avtrekkeren. I'll keep it the way it is... after all the map is called Ajaccio so it's more natural to start where the actual city center of Ajaccio is located. And as you said, it offers many other conveniences.

And what about adding an extra rail connection? Do you think it is missing? There's only one in real life but maybe I should add an extra one for gameplay purpose...

Sure, I don't think it's a bad idea. Though it didn't bother me personally.

Yeah that was the only issue I had, however on the other hand I really liked the starting tile for other building purposes. Even on some original maps you need to use water towers, so it's not a big problem. And once you get your first tile unlock, it's a strategic choice if you want to go for river tiles and change towers into pumps.

Thanks pyndec and Avtrikkeren for your support. That's nice to hear !

Actually, I'm considering moving the starting tile eastward so that we could have directly access to fresh water from the river, instead of pumping it from the sea at start, which is a bit weird. What do you think of that idea?

This is a fantastic map - great job :)
