Description
Release date: Summer 2015
Transience is a contemplative puzzle platformer about grief, loss and coping.

The game is built in an impersistent world that changes just out of view. Many of the puzzles rely on this mechanic.

The controls are very simple- WASD. There's no health bar, player death or dialogue.

We plan on releasing a level creator some time after launch so that you can create your own Transient-like puzzles!

The community reaction for Transience has been great! Thank you all so much for your positive words! We're going to answer some questions for you:

"It looks like an interesting game, the graphics and the music work well together. But I don't understand how it will cause the contemplation of grief, loss, and coping when there is no dialogue, death, or anything to cope? It seems like the only "character" in the game is going to be the little ball of light that the player controls, are there other factors or "characters"?" -Ollypop92

"My answer is no because you've deliberately ignored Skoardy's rather pertinent question. With no dialogue of any kind, how exactly does your game cause people to contemplate grief, loss, and coping?" -wilco64256

We were very careful to craft a trailer that doesn't give away some of the big surprises the game has- and instead decided to focus on how the game is built to make you feel (as well as demonstrate the primary gameplay mechanic of the impersistent world). There are other characters, yes. We don't want to give away HOW the game will convey these concepts to you otherwise it will definitely spoil the experience. If you don't mind spoilers, we plan on releasing a 'let's play' style video of the intro level which sets up the story of the rest of the game- but we would still recommend you play it for yourself :)

"Will it have music similar to the one in the trailer?" -Decap

Yes- the music in the trailer was created by our very talented Dave Nelson. We believe it's important to have high quality original music in our games- and we're not going to cut any corners in that area.
