Knarrland_v1.0 (outdated)

Description
For a small version of this map that fits in just 9 tiles, try v2.01: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=406536031 (WARNING! Space is at a premium on this map, it is not for the faint of heart)

For and updated (similarly roomy) version of this map, try v3.01: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=407473129

This island is based on heightmap data taken from Brunette Island off the south coast of Newfoundland. Other than cleaning up terrain and raising the mountain peaks a bit I added a dormant volcano containing a lake in order to make some fun waterfall and lake features.

I'm still figuring out how all the content management works tbh. I don't want to break stuff stuff if I can help it. Might make a test map later to play with the tools more, but for now I'd just like to take some time to actually play lol.

I take your Height map, and convert it into 'Azulia City' http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=407811208

You can update your maps with the Content Manager in Cities SL instead of commiting new maps each time

I really like this map and I have played a lot on it. I have some problems though. It's a bit difficult to get a good layout. But that is the beauty of planning well.

There are no train tracks, but that is okay since there are so many other ways to transport.

The rivers are flowing very slowly and I had some problems getting rid of the waste in the beggining. However that all changed once I bought the land with the water source. I could just pump away the waste down the other side of the mountain. That heavy stream of water also solved by electricity problem since I simply built a dam close to the top on a small spot that could manage it. That one alone generates about 1600 MW of power. It was fun to figure out but feels a little cheap now after a while

But all the positives far outweigh the negatives on this map. It's great fun!

Ok guys, after playing this map for a few hours yesterday I decided to start from scratch rather than update this one. Mainly it had to do with the positioning of the land mass. Please go check out v2.01, I'll put a link in the description.

This map looks totally nice and promising. :D Subscribed so I can grab and play it after the, uhm, problems are fixed!

Good to hear, this map has real potential.

Yeah sorry for the crummy transport I was running on an hour of sleep yesterday and wanted to start playing. And I agree, the waterways seem too shallow. After a few intakes pumps my lake was drying up faster than it refilled. I'll take a second crack at it today after work.
