Release date: Available Now for DK2 @
Titans of Space® a short guided tour of our planets and a few stars in virtual reality.

It is currently available on several VR-enabled platforms, including the Oculus Rift DK2. I've decided to bring this to Steam in order to gain more exposure and offer paid add-ons with minimal fuss for myself and the players. The core tour that is there now will remain free. I will also be releasing a sequel to this on Steam as well hopefully later this year.

This program receives regular updates, keeps up with SDKs, and will receive an upgrade befitting the stunning quality of some of the upcoming VR headsets coming onto the market this year.

  • Everything is toy-sized for easy comparison of scale -- all objects are shrunk down to 1 millionth of their actual size.
  • The tour is carefully paired with a beautiful and dynamic soundtrack.
  • All sizes are to scale (1:1000000), but distances between objects are not.
  • Although the tour is on rails, you can enjoy full control over the pace and depth of the tour though a multitude of options.
  • No form of input is necessary to experience the full tour, but a controller is recommended for comfort. Also includes keyboard and mouse support.
  • Your cockpit will display informational text at most tour stops. There are sometimes additional pages of information with extra detail. If you've been wanting to catch up on what's new in our Solar System, this is a great place to start!
  • Translated into multiple languages. Some portions of the experience are still in English, and this is not the fault of the translator(s) as I just didn't have the text ready for them at the time.
  • Optional microphone passthrough, in case you are lost in virtual reality with headphones on and someone needs to get your attention. []-)
  • Various add-ons will become available if this is Greenlit, such as a complete narration for the entire tour, including subtitles.

Note that the tour isn't over yet after you've finished touring the Solar System.

Download links for existing platforms, and more information can be found at the program's dedicated website:

I wish to express a huge thanks to all my testers and those in the VR community that have generously provided feedback, as well as to the various space agencies and astronomers around the world that have made a journey like this possible.

It was my favourite experience with the DK2. Now I can't really wait to play it on the Vive, and to see what they will add in the future!! Go go go, charge!!

Great early show of the technology for education!

The distance not being correct and being sooo close to the plants & stars makes it difficult to understand, perhaps not trying so hard to show how small the person is in comparison would be better to actually perceive it. Controls are a bit confusing too, but I have a new controller so perhaps I'm not used to it.

Great work!

Nice selection interface and interesting content but the movement is too fast. Everyone I show it too on Oculus gets a bit queasy, myself included. Hoping that they can smooth that motion issue out.

@Attachmatte: Space Engine, while fantastic in it's own right, is not nearly as accessible as Titans of Space. With SE, you have all the freedom but also a much steeper learning curve. Titans of Space is meant as a VR experience where you just press Start and enjoy the ride. (And you most definitely will!)

DrashVR, I hope you're considering adding even more content if you get on Steam, because I would gladly pay for DLC to explore even further with Titans of Space. Think of black holes, taking the tour out of the galaxy; or even out to the 'Cosmic Web'. The sense of scale that is possible to convey with the Rift (which you've certainly pulled off so far) is so much more powerful than the imagination.

Voice commentary would be nice, but other than that thank you so much for this amazing game.

your idea until it is interesting , but look : and you will see in my opinion the best space simulator time and supported only by donations

I'm supporting this because I dig the experience on my DK1, however I'd really like to see you guys improve the graphics and work more on the content. Cheers!

This is always my go-to-demo to start people off on the DK2. The reactions you evoke out of people as they experience this amazing demo is just fantastic, and once you tell them to look behind them.......priceless.
