Star Wars: The Force Unleashed PC Port Fixes
By Lingo
Seeing as the Star Wars Humble Bundle just hit, many people are experiencing port issues that this title has.

Issues include:
  • 30 FPS cap
  • No support for higher resolutions
  • Odd blurring and distant object glitching
  • Sound issues in last two levels
These issues, however, can be fixed.

30 FPS FIX
Luckily a fine gentleman has been able to mod the Force Unleashed executable and let you choose which framerate cap the game will run at.

On a side note this mod also includes modded .exes for Force Unleashed II as well!
  1. First download this .7z file[community.pcgamingwiki.com] and extract it (winrar, 7zip, etc should do the trick)
  2. Navigate to your local install of your game (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars The Force Unleashed)
  3. Repace the original .exe file with the modded one of your choosing!
NOTE: The increased frame cap may result in a higher chance of crashing, the unlimited cap option increases this chance even further. This mod may also cause objects to automatically rise when you force grip them.
HIGH RESOLUTION FIX
This fix is a little easier and just has to do with a bad launcher.
  1. Navigate to "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Aspyr\Star Wars The Force Unleashed"
  2. Open "Config.xml"
  3. Edit "<s id="VideoWidth"> insert value here </s>" and "<s id="VideoHeight"> insert value here </s>" to your desired resolution
  4. Enjoy the game in 1440p, 4k, and above!
ODD BLUR AND DISTANT OBJECT GLITCHING
It seems this is directly tied to using Intel Onboard Graphics. The only way found to fix this so far is to get a better AMD or Nvidia graphics card.

SOUND ISSUES IN LAST 2 STAGES
For whatever reason sounds cut out on the last two levels. You can look directly here for the source of the fix.
  1. Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars The Force Unleashed\LevelPacks"
  2. Download this and extract it
  3. Replace all the files in the \LevelPacks directory
  4. Enjoy actaully hearing proper sound in the last two levels :p

The PS2/Wii/PSP version is a bit of a mixed bag. More levels that are sometimes longer and in-engine cutscenes instead of FMV, but some of the actual story(PROXY in any way trying to kill Starkiller for example) is cut entirely, and the voice work is... not as good.

I remember the PS2 version being a bit better. Different saber hilts, no physics issues with outfits n stuff :(

I dunno if you're aware of this, but raising the cap to 60fps also makes forcing the Star Destroyer to crash-land extremely difficult, at least for me.

@Bester94, You need to download a program like 7zip or Winrar and install it. Then you can right click any archive file and choose to extract it in its own folder!
