All Outfits

Outfits are sets of clothing that Cole Phelps can wear in L.A. Noire. New outfits are unlocked as the player's rank increases. Additional outfits can be obtained through pre-order bonuses and downloadable content. You can change outfits at any time in the "Outfits" section in the pause menu. You cannot change outfits during cutscenes, however. Several of the outfits augment Cole's abilities.

Standard Outfits

Standard Outfits are included in the game.

Beat Cop Uniform

DESCRIPTION

Cole Phelps obtains this outfit when he starts working for the LAPD as a beat cop.

Once the player has completed the patrol cases, this outfit cannot be worn, unless you replay the patrol cases.

Golden Boy

INTRODUCTION

"Get yourself two suits and get them pressed."

DESCRIPTION

The suit consists of a brown pinstriped coat and matching vest and pants, a grey fedora and a red tie.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is made available to the player upon their promotion to the Traffic Desk.

Sword of Justice

INTRODUCTION

"The city of Angels is much more dangerous by night."

DESCRIPTION

The outfit is a dark blue pinstriped three-piece suit with a matching fedora and a red and white spotted tie.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is unlocked upon reaching Rank 5.

Sunset Strip

INTRODUCTION

"Best worn while rubbing shoulders with movies stars."

DESCRIPTION

The suit consists of a dark and light grey coat, dark trousers, a light grey fedora and an orange and purple tie.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is unlocked when the player reaches Rank 8.

The Outsider

INTRODUCTION

"Don't believe everything you read in the papers."

DESCRIPTION

The Outsider outfit seems to be the Hawkshaw outfit with a gray jacket and a different color fedora.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is unlocked when the player reaches Rank 13.

Hawkshaw

DESCRIPTION

The Hawkshaw allows the player to endure more damage during fights and shootouts.
The outfit seems to be The Outsider outfit without the jacket and with a different colored fedora.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is unlocked when the player reaches Rank 18.

Bonus Outfits

Bonus Outfits can be obtained only through pre-order bonuses and downloadable content.

The Sharpshooter

DESCRIPTION

The suit enhances your aim with rifles and pistols. Always a worst case scenario for any detective working a case, there are of course those occasions for Cole Phelps when pursuing a suspect escalates to gunfire. In these tense shootouts, the Sharpshooter suit provides that extra aiming precision to take the criminal down.

This pre-order pack comes with the alternative Nickel plated pistol model.

ACQUISITION

The Sharpshooter is a pre-order bonus.
It is featured in the The Complete Edition of the game, avaliable after completing the Patrol cases.

The Broderick

INTRODUCTION

"Hits harder and take more punches before going down."

DESCRIPTION

The suit boosts the player's fist-fighting capabilities and resilience to damage.

Throughout L.A. Noire while working cases, the player will encounter quite a few suspects and persons of interest who prove to be resistant to arrest. Your hand-to-hand fighting skills will be called into action on these cases – the Broderick suit with its enhanced fighting abilities may be that edge in helping make that collar.

Also, a Nickel plated version of the Browning Hi-Power is wielded when wearing the suit.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is a pre-order bonus.

Button Man

INTRODUCTION

"Carry extra ammo, for all weapons, just in case."

DESCRIPTION

The outfit provides the player with extra ammo for shotguns, rifles and submachine gun, pistols won't be affected since they already have infinite ammunition.

It looks similar to the Sunset Strip outfit, except with dark gray pants and a nearly white suit coat.

ACQUISITION

The outfit can only be unlocked after completing The Badge Pursuit Challenge.

Chicago Lightning

DESCRIPTION

The suit enhances Cole Phelps' accuracy when using the BAR, the Thompson and the shotgun.

It's a grey and dark blue pinstriped two-piece suit with a matching fedora and a black-striped tie.

It looks similar to the Sunset Strip outfit, except with dark gray pants and a nearly white suit coat.

ACQUISITION

The outfit is only available to the members of the Rockstar Social Club.
