Description
WARNING A: If you don't have counter-strke: source, you won't be able to see any of the props and most of the textures. Make sure you have counter-strike: source installed and mounted before you subscribe to this map.

WARNING B: This is optional. If you want the map to look as pretty as it does in the screenshots, you have to go into your video settings and make sure "color correction" is enabled.

Winter is a map designed for deathmatch and TTT. There are two seperate versions of the map, dm_winter, and ttt_winter. The dm_winter version has seperated spawns and no ttt weapon spawns. The ttt_winter version has all the spawns in two groups, and random weapon spawns.

Winter takes place in a small nuclear waste storage facility in the dead of winter. It has an open skybox, and should be well optimized. unless you have a lower end computer, this should run above 30 fps. Even with color correction enabled.

Winter was initially a joke map for me. I saw my mapper associate Pufulet's map "Filth" and decided that I wanted to make a similar warehouse sort of map. While I was making it, I decided to make fun of the tradtional CSS mapping trope of placing crates and boxes everywhere. dm_crates was born. After working on it for a few days, I got bored of the horrible de_nuke lighting and color scheme and decided to try out something I'd never done before in mapping. Color Correction. With a bit of experimentation, I decided I'd make the map more seriously, and set it in a snowy theme.

I'd say it turned out quite well.

The map is fairly small, so it should work great for npc battles if you'd like to use Silverlan's npc graph tool thingy to make your own nodegraph, and if you want to use newer nextbot npcs, using the nav_generate command should work very quickly.

I hope you lot enjoy playing the map as much as I enjoyed making it!

fyi nav_generate is for net-bots not npcs thats nodegraph

This is true with almost every gmod map. Type into console "nav_mark_walkable" (or whatever it is). This will add a starting point for the "nav_generate" command to work from.
