Better Lifespans

Description
Adjusted default lifespans to be more realistic. Also added Extra Short, Longer and Extra Long lifespan durations.

This mod adjusts the number of days in each life stage to more closely mimic what a real person spends in each life stage as they grow up and age. By default, there are three durations: short, normal, and long. I have added three new ones called Extra Short, Longer and Extra Long. With the default values, Paras who do not have kids early in the Young Adult life stage are at risk of hitting Elder before their kids grow up, to say nothing of them living to see their grandchildren grow up.

I have assigned each life stage a number of years, and have based the durations on how many days are in a year. Extra Short has 0.6 day years, Short has 1 day years, Normal has 2 day years, Long has 4 day years, Longer has 5 day years, and Extra Long has 7 day years.

The only thing this mod touches is the number of days in a life stage, so it sounds like a bug with the game. I'll try to recreate it just in case.

idk if this is mod related but on short life span when paras age up, their appearance doesn't age up with them

Tables updated with the new defaults. It's wild to me that the devs set their Long to four times as long as the default Normal.

Default total days: 56 > 112 > 448

Talk about a jump!

Sounds like the newest patch has integrated this mod to some extent.

I've been troubleshooting and it's definitely not this mod that is causing the problem with aging (at least for me). I've done everything I could think of so I either have some conflicting mods or it's a game bug. Still doing some testing but in one save I got aging working again with just this mod installed by switching the storyteller from my current one to another one and then going back to my original, then they started aging again. However, once I added in other mods it stopped working again so back to troubleshooting!

I was experiencing townies not aging before seeing this mod, so I believe it's a game bug, not a mod problem :chivyeet:

I'm not able to recreate this issue. Have you tried with only this mod installed to see if the aging works? Both with over 200 mods and just with just this mod, I am seeing aging like normal.

This leads me to believe a possible mod conflict on your end. The other thing to try would be to verify your game files through Steam.

I am having the same issue as @mishkaluvr & @earthboer, where townies aren't aging even though aging is on. I uninstalled the mod to see if that's the issue or if it's a bug in the game
