Forest RTS (WIP)

Forest RTS is a RTS map where you chop lumber, construct buildings and train troops to fight your enemies. You can either choose to play against waves of attacking barbarians or against other players if players are present on both teams. Any constructive feedback is highly appreciated. This mod should be played with players on both teams!

How to play:
- Find a suitable spot to make a base.
- Construct a Main Tent and Gold Mine.
- Train workers to harvest lumber.
- Construct buildings, train troops and research upgrades before crushing the enemy!

- Train 10 workers as soon as possible.
- Kill neutral camps early on to get extra gold and lumber. Make sure to have a few troops to support your hero!
- Once you have a sizeable army, take the lumber camp in the middle of the map to get extra lumber income.

Current Game Modes:
Single Player Mode:
- When there is only one player in the game, waves of angry Barbarians will spawn regularly, attacking your base! Stay alive and try to kill as many waves as you can. You will have vision of all the Barbarian units as they spawn. This mode is mainly meant for testing out the map!

Co-Op vs Soldiers Mode:
- When all the players in the game are on the same team, Barbarians will start spawning for each player. This mode works more or less exactly like the Single Player Mode, except that each player gets their own waves.

Normal Mode:
- The default mode when there are players present on both teams. Chop lumber, construct buildings and train troops to defeat the other team. The first team to get a certain amount of kills wins. No patrol groups will be spawned in this mode.

Used for the construction and placement of buildings.

Just tried to start the mod several times to see if it still crashes, and I havn't had any problems today. Seems like it was Valve's fault, according to the last update notes:
'* Custom Games: Fixed a bug where loading into a custom game would occasionally fail to find the necessary files (resulting in a crash or missing interface elements)'
Hopefully this fixed the issue.

Yeah, sadly not. I've been trying to figure out why it crashes, but I have no idea if it's one of Valve's updates that broke the mod or a fault in the mod itself. I will still try to figure it out, though

The spawn timings now increase every 5 waves, with an extra minute of break as that happens for better recovery chances between the waves. I don't know if that is enough time, but it should help. I've also started working on new units to spice up the game, with a new Cavalry unit for Prophet just released, so you can except more content like that in the coming weeks.

Barbarians definitely spiced up the game, though there's still no goal.
Barbarian spawn time should be changed from 60 seconds and add more time since in later waves it's impossible to fight multiple waves off.
Also if you could improve the lumber system and add more upgrades it would be great.
Looking forward for this mod to get popular.

First version of the Barbarian system released. Currently there's not many ordinary waves, but more will be added soon. After all the normal waves have been sent, more units will be added each wave instead for slightly increasing difficulty over time. More different waves will be added soon.

The barbarian system is under development and is soon ready for a first release. It will focus on stronger, but much fewer units, which will spawn in waves and attack the bases of the players regularly. What's left before release is adding more waves and different barbarian units, and doing some more playtesting. This should increase the difficulty, while also reducing the lag issues people were having late game with the patrol system. After that, I'll most likely add some more units, buildings and/or research to the races.

Исправь что 1/2 часть карты подсвечивается красным хотя на ней можно строить.

Well if you do the barbarian camp thing then it depends on the unit lag again if it spawns more or its just spawns less and stronger.
I kinda like the idea. but it would be nice if you spiced things up like with neutral shops or neutral mercenary camp where u can hire some special creep units.
