How to Continue Your Roadside Research Gas Station When Host is Offline

My friends and I kept wanting to get back to running our gas station together in Roadside Research, but we could never be online at the same time. Our save just sat there. Then I found a way to share it so any of us can host. This guide walks you through the setup and explains how it works. Takes about 5 minutes, then you can play whenever you want.

You'll need SaveSync (one-time purchase with lifetime updates)

Setup Steps

1. Close Roadside Research completely and create a new save world

2. Open SaveSync → Select Roadside Research
3. Click "+ New Save" → Choose your gas station save

4. Wait for sync (green checkmark)
5. Click share icon → Add your friend

That's it! Your friend can now host your Roadside Research gas station.

How Your Friend Accesses the Save

1. Open SaveSync
2. Find the shared Roadside Research save
3. Click "Activate" → Choose a slot

Roadside Research has 5 save slots. The slot you pick maps to the save slot inside the game.

4. Launch Roadside Research and play!

How It Actually Works

Your Roadside Research gas station is just a save file sitting in a folder on your computer. Normally, if you wanted your friend to host that save, you'd have to find the file, send it over Discord or email, and then your friend would have to figure out where to put it on their machine. And every time one of you plays and the gas station changes, you'd do the whole thing again. That's the pain.

SaveSync does all of that automatically. When you share a save, it copies the file to the cloud. When your friend clicks "Activate" and picks a save slot, it downloads the file and puts it in the exact right spot on their computer -- the same place the game expects to find saves. No hunting for folders, no manual file transfers, no "wait, where does this go?" Roadside Research just sees the gas station in the slot you chose and loads it like normal.
